11/12/2014 Update on the review. As much as we love the staff. Last night after Indie had her nail trimmed, She was returned to us with a big bruise on the right side of her head . We are very concerned on how they handled our dog in the back (where we can't see her) Disappointed.

I appreciated that Dr. Griffin not only explained that Charlie's bumps are benign, but also said when I should be concerned. I like that they make notes about what helps Charlie be more comfortable during exams.

The staff and Doctors here have been outstanding to bring our cat to. They always take the time to explain everything about our cat. Dr. Lottie recently answered our call right before the vet was set to close and gave her opinion of what was going on with our cat and even provided an emergency vet that we could go to if we felt it necessary. Dr. Lottie's love for animals is apparent in how she treats the animals. Would definitely recommend Carver Lake to friends and family.

Overpriced. It was over $250 for one dog to get his annual shots and heartguard. He didn't even need rabies. I have two dogs that needed two annual shots. Our bill was $500. It was $50 just to walk in the door. Then we were charged for things like Lyme disease vaccines. If you don't mind paying more for the same service, then I guess they are ok. I felt taken advantage of and overcharged. The office staff was nice though.

The building is clean and welcoming, they even welcomed me and my cat by name as soon as I walked in. The wait time was practically non-existent. I was quite impressed until I went into the exam room. The patient rooms have a door that connect to where the doctors and assistants work in the back, and you can hear everything going on in the back area. I could hear every single word being said by Dr. Hunter and the others. I am grateful that they were incredibly professional and I did not hear any personal information about others or something rude or offensive. However, it would be better if there was a way to ensure I did not hear everything being said. I saw Dr. Kate An Hunter and I was quite unsatisfied. She only examined my cat for about 3 minutes. She tried to take the cat's temperature and of course my cat did not like it. She meowed, hissed and clenched up-- and Dr. Hunter wanted to sedate my cat in order to continue the exam! I have had cats my entire life and I have NEVER had someone want to sedate my cat in order to examine them! Dr. Hunter identified a tooth infection in the first minute of the exam, which I was very grateful for. She prescribed medication and said she was fairly confident that was the only issue with my cat. I went ahead and believed her because to sedate my cat and finish the exam was going to be $350. She also informed me I will have to come in for another appointment to get my cat's teeth cleaned (which makes sense). She wrote me up an estimate that ranged from $500 all the way to $1500. Dr. Hunter told me to "put some money aside for this", but also said it needs to be done within the next two weeks. She said they couldn't know more about the cost because she didn't get a good look at the tooth... but she also didn't try to look at my cat any closer. Dr. Hunter said they would call the following day to make sure my cat was feeling better and to schedule the tooth cleaning. No one ever called. My cat was prescribed two medications, one is for pain and one is an antibiotic. One of the medications says right on the bottle that it is for dogs only. I did not notice this while at the clinic, but it would have been good for Dr. Hunter to point this out to me and explain why it would be safe for my cat anyway. I had to use Google to find out it was safe (I almost stopped giving it to her because I could not figure out why my cat would be receiving dog medication). The same medication now emails me every day to remind me to give my cat her meds. This isn't a big deal, but I would have appreciated knowing that the clinic was going to be giving my email out to another company (and I would have requested they not do so).
