I have used the Humane Society for each of my pets. I had one dog and three cats. While I was there the other day, we saw three kittens that, if I could afford to do it, I would have adopted Larry, Mo and Curly. The were simply adorable. When I talk about my pets, I always recommend the Humane Society because the people there are so caring, especially when you must do the inevitable. Dr. Arndt assisted me and my Pierre five years ago and he could not have been nicer.

Sadly we had to put down our beloved lab last week. Our vet did not have availability for this until Monday (we called on a Thursday), and we called AMCMA and they got us in the next day. We were quickly escorted back to the exam room, and the vet came in to interview us (and, I assume, make sure we weren't making a rash decision that we'd regret). She was quite kind to us as we were an emotional wreck. Casey had an IV placed quickly, they returned her to the room, and I was able to hold her while the medicine quickly and apparently painlessly stopped her heart. We were verbally comforted by Dr. Fahnestock before we left which was very kind. Today I was delighted to receive a card from their office with Casey's paw prints and notes from the staff. We had not been to this office since Casey was spayed in 2003, but they treated us incredibly well considering the terribly sad situation. I certainly appreciate our vet's care over the years, but Dr. Kim Fahnestock and her staff really helped us in a time of need and (honestly) despair.

I have been taking my pup, Jack, to Dr. McManus for over two years now. I rescued Jack from the Humane Society and after some not so great experiences at other vets I decided I would try them out. Dr. McManus rocks; not only is she extremely intelligent and knowledgeable on all things dog, she is also just a friendly gal that is easy to work with. Jack and I both feel extremely comfortable with her and I trust her with Jack's life! He's had some health scares, but Dr. McManus has been there with us every step of the way. I will be taking Jack and any future pets of mine to Dr. McManus for the rest of her career.

Every single person, from the front desk to the vet tech to the veterinarian were excellent. Very friendly and knowledgable!
