The BEST personal attention and care your best friend can receive! Our stories of personal attention are too numerous!

We took our Lab to the clinic for several years. They were a great clinic, staff and Dr Steinberg was always very caring, attentive and helpful. When they repaired her ACL, Dr Steinberg was very helpful in communicating with us through the whole process, going in late and on the weekend to care for her. As an added bonus, when I talked to other vets from around the country for work, the price of her care was exceptional compared to other clinics elsewhere. GREAT care, easy to make appts, friendly staff.

They have been our vet for years and wonderful with animals. Dr. Steinberg - cannot say enough wonderful things about him and his staff. Would come from miles around to see West County Animal Clinic.

Dr Steinberg, at West County Animal Clinic, is the absolute best Veterinarian to go to in St Louis! I've been going to Dr Steinberg with all of my cats since around 1999, and he has always been amazing. He and his staff are great at normal pet checkups and they have also literally saved a few of my cats lives. One of my cats, Tigger, was torn apart by 2 Greyhounds, and probably should have died right then, but my Brother quickly took Tigger to an animal emergency room down the street, who basically just sewed all of the skin back together and sent him home. When I got home the next day, I noticed right away that Tigger was still in desperate need of additional medical care, and rushed him over to Dr. Steinberg. Dr. Steinberg realized that Tigger still had big problems inside, and opened him back up, finding that his ribs were still ripped apart, which needed to be strapped together for the rest of his life with surgical metal straps, otherwise his ribs would spread open when he breathed, and would cause constant pain. Dr. Steinberg also knew that you're not supposed to just sew up wounds like that. Those kinds of wounds need to drain, so Dr. Steinberg added drain tubes to keep the fluid draining from the wounds, and kept him for a few days. Tigger got better quickly after that and went on to live another 7 happy and healthy years, thanks to Dr. Steinberg. --------------------------- I just picked up my new cat from Dr. Steinberg's office after I believe he saved his life as well. This was a stray cat that came by my house every few days and let me pet him, and he would purr and rub against me like he was starving for attention. It is such a cool cat, but his face was being attacked by some kind of fungus or something that made his hair start falling out and left his skin so itchy that he tore his face and eye apart scratching it non-stop. He had lost a lot of hair and had all kinds of cuts and crapes all over his head. His eye was scratched, oozing, and almost completely white. He could not see out of it at all. He almost looked like someone set his head on fire. Each time I saw him he looked worse, so one day I captured the cat, put him in a box with a few towels, and took him straight up to Dr. Steinberg. I didn't even have an appointment, but they saw me right away and Dr. Steinberg took great care to make the cat comfortable, made an early diagnosis the problem, and kept him overnight for some tests. When I picked the cat up the next day, Dr. Steinberg had already helped the cat a lot and had a plan to treat the problem, including the damaged eye. It has been about a month, and by following Dr. Steinberg's plan, the cat has made great progress. I'm even planning on keeping him. The new cat's eye is 90% better, we fixed his broken tooth, his skin is all but clear, and he is growing his hair back. We're still working on the itchiness of the skin that had been damaged by the stuff attacking his face, but we should have that under control in a week or so. I'm convinced that if the cat wouldn't have received help, within a month or two, he would have been too sick to save. If you want the best care for your pet, take him/her to Dr. Steinberg! You'll be very glad that you did!
