Recently had to put down our 15 year old Border Collie, Riley. All of the people here at Kingsbury Animal Hospital treated Riley with the sweetest most loving demeanor. They were so kind to him and made that terribly difficult experience go as smoothly as it could have. The vet was so considerate and understanding of our concerns and pain and handled our questions and tears with grace and patience. I highly recommend Kingsbury Animal Hospital for that difficult process. Their above-and-beyond care will leave with you peace.
This is a top notch operation. The vets and staff are very competent and caring. My Standard Poodle has been a patient of Dr. Shaw since 2005. I highly recommend them.
My family has been fortunate to have such a wonderful clinic in our backyard. We have a sweet golden who is known by name and demeanor by the entire KAH staff. Dr. Fry holds a truly special place in our heart, as she was able to help us connect with Mizzou staff when our pooch needed a more complicated surgery. She continually checked in on our dog, Kendall, while she was in Columbia, and upon returning to St. Louis. It's the genuine care exhibited that really makes this place a standout. When we told the KAH staff we were moving to Seattle this past summer, Dr. Fry immediately got in touch with her network of colleagues and researched best clinics in our current Seattle neighborhood. That's what makes this place so exceptional. They want the best for each animal and its owners. We already miss this place so much. We would highly recommend this for your four legged friends!
We were new to St Louis Veterinary clinics when a friend of ours suggested Kingsbury Animal Hospital as a clinic for our 2 dogs. We had no idea in the beginning how much we would be seeing of them or how challenging of cases we would be bringing their way. A few years into owning both a pug and puggle, our 4 y/o puggle began to have seizures and was diagnosed with epilepsy. He had a very aggressive and drug resistant form and through it all, the staff and Kingsbury offered continued support, and guidance in attempting to get our puggle's seizures under control. His challenging case really we think pushed the staff's expertise and they rose to the occasion with the tenacity and passion of those truly focused on the health and well being of our pets. They even suggested specialists, and alternative forms of treatment that we sought out when the standard approach did not work and worked with us even 'after hours' to help manage our puggle's seizure activity and give him the best quality of life possible. After a 1.5 year battle he succumbed to a massive seizure where he lost hind limb and bowel control and we had to say goodbye to our loving puggle and member of our family. The team at Kingsbury made every effort to treat us with compassion, respect, and support during what was a very difficult time. We are so indebted to their care and devotion. They, like the pets they see, treat their cases with the unconditional love not often found in all vet clinics. We would not think twice about recommending them to anyone looking for a good vet clinic in the St Louis area. Their knowledge base is very broad and they are constantly striving for excellence in their practice. We thank Dr. Brammeier, Dr. Shaw, Cheryl, Abby, Joanne, Ben and others for the amazing work they do. You truly helped us fight and make the best of one of the worst situations we could be in with our pets - slowly watching our little guy slip away. For what time he did did survive and enjoy life was because of you and because of your unfaltering effort to help your patients live and live the best quality life they can.
Would not go here unless you want to be rushed and talked down to. Recently moved from west coast and attempted to make Kingsbury my new veterinarian. From the moment the female vet walked into the patient room she seemed rushed and as soon as she opened her mouth she began putting down my old veterinarian and telling me how EVERYTHING they did was wrong and how she was right. This made me feel very small and searching for the exit door. She talked at me instead of to me and seemed to get rather irritated if I asked her to explain certain details from her feedback. The only thing she was interested in was selling me external and optional products and services. I was mortified!! Since, I have found a WONDERFUL facility with staff who are not burnt out and are compassionate about caring for your pets. I am very fortunate to have found the Humane Society at Macklind who are staffed with 17 doctors and specialist, grooming, behavioral specialist, and FREE spayed/ neuter clinics to name a few!!
