They used to be preety good, customer service and their pricing. however since they changed ownership, everything went down the hill. a simple Rabies shot ended up costing $95. ofcourse, i was shocked. so i asked them to explain the charges thinking there has to be an error. The girl behind the counter got offended/defensive. gave me a pcs of paper with some charges. I requested her to explain the charges. it said, Vacination + Checkup $95. had no choice but to pay the bill. this is after my gf called them up to confirm their pricing. and was quoted $45. I never asked for a checkup. They have to do a checkup before giving the shot, atleast thats what was explained to me. and so they have to charge. upon doing further research on the pricing and customer service, i called a few places in town. excat same thing could have costed me $23 with free checkup with better explanation of the bill.

Love, love, LOVE Dr. Root and his staff. I have an 80lb. beast of a dog who doesn't realize his size or strength a lot of times. It takes quite a few staff members to get him on the exam table, but the staff there takes such great care with him when he is there, that he LOVES to see them (no matter why he is there). I have had everything done for my dog there--from regular shots to surgery...all ending with a good experience.

My family has used this vet for over 20 years and have always been very pleased with the services and accomodations. The vetrinarians are amazing and do excellent work. However, this morning I took my dog in to be spayed and they immediately took her from me, and when she hesitated a little the pulled her leash so she would come, dragging her down the stairs. She weighs about 5 pounds, they could have easily picked her up. Once she got her down the stairs, she did in fact pick her up. They took her from me the second I walked in the door and immediately bombarded me with paperwork and I didn't get to say goodbye. I know this seems trivial, but she is my child, it was just, for lack of a better word, sad. They also told me that it would be beneficial to have her organs and blood work checked out before the surgery to "make sure she is stable and will be fine for surgery and anesthesia." This costs and extra $40, which in my opinion, if you're doing the surgery, you should make sure the dog is okay beforehand. I'm not asking you to check out each of her organs and spend hours examining her, but the way they phrased the paperwork and sub sequential encouragements to sign the document, made it sound like I was a terrible parent for not choosing this option. Also, when I called to check on her, the response was, "She's doing fine and resting." It may be just a dog, and routine surgery, but I would like a little more comfort in the fact that she is being handled well and that surgery was not problematic. I feel like the instant I walk into this vet they begin attempting to squeeze money from me any way they can, rather than simply taking care of my animals. I will probably not take my pets back to this vet, which I am very sorry to say.
