I take my dog to Dr Chris Meyer at Pet Vet on Patton. I had tried several other vets. Dr Meyer was thorough and compassionate. The vet tech was kind and intelligent and did a great job. The office staff has always been efficient and helpful. I also find it is an economical choice. They only do what is necessary. They match whatever price you find on the internet for pet meds so you can get good quality from the vet for the same cheaper prices as online. Each time I go, I continue to be very pleased.
We moved to the Asheville area over 2 years ago and debated on switching our vet to an Asheville area for a long time. When we finally decided to switch, we chose the Pet Vet on Patton. We were a little hesitant because we have an aggressive dog, and the thought of switching his vet made us very nervous. However, the experience was amazing. They are so knowledgeable, and they work so well with our aggressive dog. I am very confident in everything they say or suggest. I don't feel like they are "in it for the money"; they really care about our dog’s health and well-being. I would highly suggest this vet to anyone.
Boarded my dog here for 3 nights recently. He got to play outside with all the daycare doggies and came home happy and tired. The staff was so on top of it and gave me a full report (with actual report card) when I came to pick up my dog. We've boarded our dog at several places around town and I can say with confidence that this has been the best overall place- best value, best service, best staff, etc.
We stayed in the area for the weekend and left our puppy with Pet Vet. The facility is very nice and staff are super friendly. My puppy was very well taken care of. Would stay with them again in the future.
My dog was misdiagnosed by Dr. Osborne with lung cancer. It was actually blastomycosis. Since there were no tumors present on the X rays, I called and begged them to please consider it may be blastomycosis. The receptionist said Dr. Osborne didn't have time to talk to me and didn't know what blastomycosis is. Furthermore, I just needed to accept my dog had cancer. I took my dog to Haw Creek Animal Hospital who confirmed it was indeed blastomycosis. This is a deadly fungus found in mulch and decaying organic matter in this area. It only effects animals who have compromised immune systems. Had I not gotten treatment from Haw Creek immediately, my dog would have been dead in a few days.
