I recently started both of my Chihuahuas at App New River Vet. I loved them from the moment I walked in the door. They were excited that I was there and both of my Chihuahuas loved the vet tech that we had. They even gave her kisses, which never happened at the vet I used to take them to up here. The vet that we had was very thorough. Both her and the vet tech did a great job of being very detailed in explaining what was going on and how they would do things. My older baby has allergic reactions and they took extra care to make sure that he was okay! I also had my younger Chihuahua spayed on Tuesday and I really liked the drop off and pick up process. We were actually brought in an exam room before and after the surgery and she talked with us about what would happen and then how things went. I would suggest them to anyone!
Excellant service at Appalachian-New River Vet. Dr. Kreis is excellant in finding what is the problem, testing, medicating and follow upin your pets problem. All thr staff is kind, loving to the animals and easy to deal with and helpful.
Dr. Cathy Kreis is, hands down, the best diagnostician of feline issues we've consulted in several decades of enjoying excellent relationships with several extremely competent vets in NC and elsewhere. We met her in an emergency situation, with a cat of whom she had no prior knowledge, and she was completely responsive. Part of her effectiveness relates to her skill as a communicator. She listens carefully, asks the right questions, and provides the information one needs in order to do what's best for the pet. In our case, the pet is a seventeen-year-old Siamese cat named Bebe. As a result of her medical and interpersonal skills, we feel Dr. Kreis has added significantly to both Bebe's life span and to her quality of life. The support provided by the practice's obviously expert staff during the several days that Bebe was treated was equally impressive. Also, I like the practice's Pet Portal feature on its well-designed web site.
I took my new adopted kitten for a first time checkup and wound up with Dr. Kreis, who turned out to be wonderful and completely knowledgeable. I found out my kitten had round worms, a small heart murmur on the left side, a slight respiratory cold, and a small amount of fleas. However, she explained all of the issues very well and told me exactly how to manage them so that they could be solved efficiently and properly. She was very caring (admittedly a cat person) and gave great advice. I don't know about the other vets, but if they're as good as Dr. Kreis then I would recommend this place to anyone!
A GREAT VET!--Went to this vet for last four years before moving away from Boone. Every visit was great! Our pet was boarded many times and they knew him by name every time we came in to visit. We even had teeth surgery done there and everything was perfect! I'd recommend this vet and Dr. Mast to anyone new to the Boone area! The folks at the front desk were always friendly and courteous!
