I have been going to Dr. Highsmith since 2005 when I found a stray and needed to utilize an SPCA voucher for her spay. Since then, she & staff have been wonderful to work with, offering short notice appointments and loving attention to my pets. Her prices are much more reasonable than ANY vet you will find in Cary and trust me I have compared. If you're looking for a pleasant vet who sincerely loves animals and has good prices, she is awesome.

I was referred by a friend to Animal Kingdom after having a bad experience at another vet with my dog who suffers from fear anxiety/aggression. The staff was amazing and my dog loved everyone there! She barely even noticed she was getting her boosters - she was too busy scarfing down treats from the vet assistant's hand. It can be really difficult to find a great practice when you have a dog that has emotional problems, but their experience, compassion, and the way they interact with the animals has removed the dread that I (and my dog) used to feel about going to the vet. They were also very reasonably priced. I can't recommend them enough!

Drs. Highsmith and Edwards and the entire staff at Animal Kingdom have taken my cat's health as personally as I have. They are supporting me in every way possible as we try to save her life. They always find time to talk to me, in person or by phone, to work out next steps and to answer the million questions I keep coming up with about my part in her care (like how to get food into her, four times a day) and what to do or try, next. I have had several extended conversations with the doctors and have yet to be charged for their time. I agree with the other writer that, even if you don't consider the free support, their prices are very, very reasonable. Working with the team at Animal Kingdom is a comfort, not just for their expertise, but for their compassion for pets and owners, alike. Highly recommended.

We recently had to put our dog of 12 years to sleep. The staff at Animal Kingdom were very kind and treated my husband and I with respect, and our dog with dignity. We have only lived in the area a few months but are already sure that we made the right choice for our pets. We highly recommend Dr. Highsmith and her staff to anyone in the Cary area.
