My husband and I just moved to Charlotte a week before we had a planned trip and needed a place to board our cat. I found MRAH online and booked them. They promised they would send me texts and check in with me which never happened. When I called them the guy I spoke to was very nice and it seemed like he was taking care of my cat. When I went to pick up my cat he was in his cage in the cat room. There were 4 cats not in cages roaming around and a barking puppy in one of the cages as well, which I know caused my cat a lot of anxiety. The next day my cat got very sick. I tried calling Monroe to ask if they had noticed anything and the first time I was put on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up and called back, which then I was transferred and hung up on. I called a 3rd time and was put on hold again for a lengthy amount of time. I ended up calling Dilworth Animal Hospital who picked up immediately, were very kind, saw my cat that morning, and called the next day to check in on him. We will not be going back to Monroe.

Loved this place and have been going for years until i was told last week when calling to bring my cat in that myself and my boyfriend weren't welcome anymore. Apparently they hired back for a FOURTH time my boyfriends ex wife (of 7 years) , she answered the phone and told me we had to find a different vet because it was a "conflict" so disappointed that they'd allow staff like this in their building to turn away loyal customers who been going there for years..

my boxer and I have been to many vets over the years and haven't liked any of them other then this place. the vet knew my dog was having seizures just by what I had descried, this is after rushing her to a after hours clinic that told me she was in pain from a gas pocket while what I learned later were classic signs of a seizure in front of her they also charged me $400. for their wrong diagnosis. this vet calmed me down and told me not to panic or take my dog to the vet when she is having one as there is little she can do that I couldn't do at home. the months to come we tried a few drugs and plans of action, most of the time it was free and over the phone as the vet would rather not have her come in because it might trigger a seizure, so looking out for the well being of my dog rather then a office fee, this went on for months until she said she has never seen a dog come back from the condition my pupster was in on our last visit. it was time I knew it but I needed to hear it from someone I trusted. about a week later I got a card hand signed from the entire staff, it made me sad because it reminded me of my dog but I thought it was very nice of them I have recommended them to a few people since then, I'm only writing this now because I saw some bad revues on here about them only caring about money that was never the case while my dog was treated by them a few months ago.

All of the staff is awesome and friendly. They are very accommodating with appointments and always take the utmost care of our pets. The facility is a little dated, but don't be deterred. They're a much better option as far as care and trustworthiness than their nearby competition. Another important point from the perspective of the pet owner, they never tried to gouge me with unnecessary tests/medicines or run up their fees in any other way. They were transparent about costs upfront and worked with me when I needed it.

Just moved to the area and had to find a vet quickly for my dog and didn't realize that being this close to the city of Charlotte that I would be able to find a Vet that cares so much and has such a wonderful staff to be as professional, courteous, "above and beyond" workers, at a great and unbelievable price. Thank you all at Monroe Road Animal Hospital for taking us at such short notice and I look forward to bringing my dog back when its time for a checkup thanks.
