My pets have been patients of St. Francis Hospital for Animals since 1997. I have always had a great experience. Everyone there is very kind and so personable. I recently lost my 14 year old dog and they were amazing in their care for her and for me. :-) I called the office many times over the course of 3 months to ask questions as we tried to figure out the best course of action for our dog. EVERY single time, I was treated with patience, kindness, understanding, empathy, etc. And especially on my dog's last day--they were so compassionate. It is rare in this day and age to have such outstanding customer service. Also, I feel that Dr. Cooper has a great understanding of doing the right thing for your pet without charging you a ton.
Dr.Cooper and his staff are beyond AMAZING! I am a professional dog trainer and have quite a few relationships with various vets throughout Charlotte but St.Francis Hospital for Animals and Dr.Cooper are my #1 recommendation to my clients and for my own dogs. Dr.Cooper never rushes you along, no matter how many questions you throw at him, and never pushes unneeded services or medicines that your dog doesn't need. They are very fair with their prices, you don't leave the vet with an outrageous bill like others do. I will continue to use their services as long as I reside in Charlotte.
I took my 13-year-old basset hound in because she was drinking and urinating excessively and I was afraid she was either diabetic or suffering from kidney problems. Rather than the wonderful, caring service other reviewers here wrote about, we got the old "let's run as many tests as we can before we even talk to you for more than a minute" routine. The vet was an agitated, scattered, spiky-haired woman who seemed to have ADD or something, talking about all kinds of things that were completely irrelevant to my dog's case - perhaps in order to delay telling me that after all the tests (the results of which were completed in a suspiciously short amount of time), she still had no idea what my dog's problem was. And that was that. Over $150 for absolutely nothing except a frustrating waste of time. I still can't figure out why I even paid them - I was in shock, I guess. I consider the vet experience I had here as semi-fraudulent. I took my dog to another vet the next day. They ran one test, found the problem, prescribed a specific medication, and the problem was gone in four or five days. Never, ever again will I trust a pet to this half-baked outfit.
Ever walk into a place and feel a different and better energy than you expected? I've been to a number of different vet clinics in the city but none quite like St. Francis. Dr. Cooper and his staff were great to me and my dog. Even though my little guy only had a short time left when I found the clinic, Dr. Cooper went out of his way to make it as painless and dignified a passing as possible. He was selfless in his compassion, rising above and beyond the call of duty. Not just a great vet but a great human being. He was there to answer any concern, help my dog live well, provided peace of mind for me the anxious owner. And when the time came, he helped my buddy pass peacefully and in a dignified, appropriate way. Special thanks to Jasmin as well, his assistant in our in-home euthanasia, you two made it truly special! This is the place for competent and compassionate care. Would definitely recommend this place to any pet owner. Thanks St. Francis Hospital for Animals!
We have only been going to St. Francis Hospital for Animals for about 10 months but in that time Dr. Cooper and his staff have always provided us with excellent service. From the initial check up for our newly adopted dog to our recent drama of a chewed advil bottle, both Dr. Cooper and his staff were always friendly and knowledgeable and you could really tell they cared about us and our pet. I found them after getting a recommendation from a co-worker and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asked.
