***BEWARE***Do not trust this place. A previous person explained it perfectly, THEY ARE ALL ABOUT MONEY AND PLAY ON A PERSON'S EMOTIONS TO OBTAIN IT. When our cat was referred to their location regarding an enlarged kidney, they constantly called my mom (aged 65) asking her for money almost like a bill collector, even though she had 1500.00 credit limit with Care Credit for our cat's medical bills when he arrived. Upon arriving he deteriorated almost immediately and we were in total shock (he was doing much much better at the Banfield Hospital prior to going there). When specific details were asked of Dr Duran, he became very agitated almost offended when my 65 year old mom asked detailed questions about her pet, almost like she had no right to question him. When it was determined additional monies would be required (they literally call every couple of hours asking for $$) my mom got an extension on her care credit limit to 3000 to cover all costs. Over the next few days the cat got progressively worse Dr Duran indicted that he did not know the cause at that point and said he had given up (all conversations were recorded per my request because my mother indicated that some of things said sounded very fishy). Long story short, my mom stated, since nothing else could be done she would pick her cat up in the morning, take him home so that he could pass away around loved ones in a comfortable environment as the hospital indicated he had maybe a week left. For some reason which I still don't understand, the hospital was totally against. us taking him home the next morning. My mom indicated she would pay what was owed and would take him home. We got a call around 5a that our cat died due to "Cardiac Arrest"; sounds like too much of a coincidence. When my mom spoke to the hospital the previous evening, they indicated the bill was 1800.00, but on the next morning when we arrived the bill jumped to 2700.00 (due to the love of our pet $$ was not the issue here), yet when we asked for a detailed summary of all medications provided and a summary from the vets who worked on him from the time he arrived to the time he passed; we still have not been able to obtain this information. FOR ANYONE WHO IS REFERRED HERE, PLEASE ENSURE BEFORE LEAVING AND PAYING YOUR BILL THAT YOU OBTAIN ITEMIZED BREAKDOWNS OF THE MEDS, PROCEDURES, AND SUMMARY FROM WHEN THEY ARRIVED TO THE TIME THEY LEAVE (DEAD OR ALIVE) for your own benefit. PLACES LIKE THIS NEED TO BE EXPOSED FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE. I HAVE BEEN WORKING DIRECTLY WITH CARE CREDIT INVESTIGATORS OVER THE PAST WEEK REGARDING THIS ISSUE AS THEY INDICATED TO US THEY HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS LOCATION AND ASKED THAT I OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION FOR THEIR INVESTIGATORS, SO I JUST WANTED TO WARN EVERYONE BEFOREHAND. TAKE YOUR PET TO ANOTHER LOCATION AND REQUEST BLOOD WORK TO CONFIRM THE MEDS THEY INDICATED WERE ADMINISTERED ARE REFLECTED IN THE BLOOD WORK. Anyone reading this knows we look at our pets as children, so to have someone say they have given up on your pet, while at the same time continuing to take your money (because they know it's available) at the same time is inexcusable. They didn't bargain on the fact that all conversations were recorded and Care credit investigators will be in touch with them very shortly. I want everyone to know this isn't about disputing charges or anything like that. Everyone, I'm doing this for our beloved child not because we're scorned because no matter what our cat would have passed; but so this doesn't happen to fellow pet / children owners. Thank you for reading. ****THE REASON THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO IN THE BACK TO SEE YOUR PET IS BECAUSE OF THE CONDITIONS. THEY HAD OUR PET IN A EXTREMELY SMALL CAGE LAYING IN URINE AND THE LITTER PAN WAS WAY TOO SMALL.. WE HAD TO FORCE THEM TO PUT HIM IN A BIGGER CAGE AND PROVIDE A LARGER LITTER PAN. WHAT ANIMAL HOSPITAL TELLS YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO CONTACT THEM AHEAD OF TIME BEFORE COMING TO VISIT YOUR PET. WHO DOES THAT?****

Beware of this place. Their ego far exceeds their actual surgical abilities and once they saw my dog was having issues after surgery I never heard from them anymore. They play on people's sympathy for their pets just to bleed money from you. Prescribe the most expensive meds in the event you do not pursue future needs or surgery. They were exactly what I expected during my emergency visit even though I expressed this to them directly, they assured me they were not. Actions don't lie and talk is cheap but not their services.

I simply don’t know any better way to thank the team at Triangle than to post a positive online response. A couple of nights ago our German Sheppard developed severe dehydration due to what turned out to be a bacterial infection. Not knowing what was wrong at the time we were going to take her to our vet first thing in the morning, but it became apparent she needed immediate and emergency attention. We drove to Triangle at Midnight and they immediately shifted into gear with great efficiency, care and compassion for us and our precious family member in distress. After an initial consultation, Dr. Duran clearly communicated his recommendations and clearly outlined the costs involved. He was extremely thorough. We approved initial treatment to hopefully get her stabilized and proceeded with x-rays and blood work which they accomplished in about 45 minutes. They were quick to get her stabilized and right on target with the diagnosis. Once we were comfortable she was on track we left her in their care and went home. She was there for two days. The communication with them while she was in their care was outstanding. They called when they said they would, took our calls of concern, accommodated a visit from me the next day and demonstrated nothing less than respect, compassion and concern for our pet and us as owners. When we left the first day we signed some paperwork and an estimate with a pretty large range and made an initial deposit on our credit card. After it was all said and done all costs came in at less half the top end of the estimate. We are lucky to have an emergency facility of this caliber here in the Triangle area. Considering this business is staffed with the "A" team 24/7 the cost of the services we were provided were more than fair and reasonable and the entire team was wonderful to work with in an emergency situation.

I took my pet there for an ultrasound. Though I appreciate the service given and that it was ordered for them to do so by my long term Veterinarian. , I don't appreciate them bad mouthing the Doctor I have been going to for all of my dogs life. I have much faith in my Veterinarian. I made it clear to my Vet that Triangle staff are not what I would consider as professional and that they should NOT be referring any clients to them again in the future.

I took my cat Steve to Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital after he started having respiratory distress symptoms. It was late at night and Steve didn't yet have a normal vet here (I recently moved to Durham) so I just Googled 'emergency vet clinic' and called them. The woman on the phone was very calm and caring, and advised me to bring him as his symptoms could constitute an emergency. I'm really glad I brought him, because after examination and some chest X-rays it became apparent that Steve had some kind of lung problem - either an infection or asthma. The vet techs at this hospital were really sweet, even though it was late at night, and Dr. Duran was awesome - explained the X-rays, answered all of my questions, and allowed Steve to come home with me that night. My cat received wonderful, professional care here. A few things I didn't like: it was stupid expensive, but I think that might be par for the course for (uninsured) emergency veterinary care. Also for the entirety of my visit I was separated from Steve, which I didn't like but again might just be the way things are done. Things that are preventing me from giving this hospital a five-star review: 1) I was given an address for and directions to a pharmacy that was closed. Thankfully I didn't actually try to go there - I looked them up to find their hours first, and discovered that that location was closed. The pharmacy has another location in town, so it wasn't a problem, but the closed location had been that way for some months. I think a vet hospital should try to be up-to-date about such things. 2) Steve was given some medications in liquid suspension I was told would taste bad, and I would have to force-feed them to him. I asked if I could put them in food or treats, and the vet techs told me not to bother - there was no way he would eat them. But after he initially vomited up his medication not seconds after I tried to give it to him, I thought, "What the hell, I'll try it in some food he likes." When mixed in food, he gobbled it up like it was delicious. Again, not a big problem, but I don't think I should have been so thoroughly discouraged from mixing the medications with food (unless it was dangerous or would inactivate the meds, neither of which were mentioned). Despite these issues I would still absolutely recommend anyone to bring their pet here if they have a veterinary emergency - the quality of care was great :)
