I have been going to Ambassador for 5 years. I had never had a problem. Once I even forgot my credit card and they allowed me to take the dogs home and come next day and pay. At one point I had 4 dogs (don;t Ask Why!!) and they would give me a multiple dog discount. My senior cocker spaniel was in bad shape and Dr. Davis game me options available, gave me time to grieve. The dogs are boarded there I have never had any problem. I wished they had a groomer with more available hours. If I can not take the dogs in person, my kids can go to the apts in my behalf with out any problems. I get post card reminders for needed vaccinations, I love this, since I forget.
Do NOT be fooled by these wonderful reviews because I certainly was. The only good experiences I have had here is with the actual DOCTORS, all who were kind and wonderful and knew what they were doing.. HOWEVER the staff is rude, they are NOT personable, friendly, or professional. When you walk through the door you are never greeted and they do not even acknowledge your presence. My biggest problem is they NEVER give you a direct price of services. Every visit I have had there I had no idea how much money I was going to spend and the rough estimate I was given was WAY OFF. Mind you, my puppy is only 6 months old and has not had any "out of the ordinary illnesses" just simple puppy vaccinations and the well check and they could never tell me how much I was going to spend until my visit was over. I hate going in blind and that's exactly what this place does to you. **ANOTHER issue I had with this place is the fact that I called them on a Monday to inform them I wanted to get my puppy on heartworm and flea preventative, I told them he is 6 months and asked them what I needed to do, they said all I need to do is bring him by to get his weight and then I can purchase the meds. So I bring him by, they check his file and inform me that he needs a heartworm test before I can put him on preventative, I was upset because they never told me he needed a heartworm test on Monday when I called so I was not prepared to spend money on the test, which is why I called in advance. I was so upset I stormed out of that place and lost control of the grip on my dogs leash so he jetted off toward Ramsey st and nearly hopped the curb onto Ramsey st. The only way I could stop him was to throw my purse at him. I cannot believe this place made me SO MAD that it almost caused me to loose my dog. Since then I have called 3 vet offices and all 3 vet offices have told me I can put my dog on preventative at any age and he will need a heartworm test at 9 months (not now). I called Ambassador back and asked why the other 3 vets are telling me he doesnt need a heartworm test until 9 months but they are telling me he needs one NOW at 6 months... there response to me was "It's just COMPANY POLICY".... are you kidding me? I am SO DONE with this place and this staff.... Thank you to the staff member who came out and helped chase my dog with me before he got hit by a car on Ramsey st :) I have since switched my dog to a vet that can tell me EXACTLY how much my office visit will be, EXACTLY how much a heartworm test will be and EXACTLY how much the preventative will be. They are nice and friendly and they enjoy their job as well as the customers they deal with :)
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I have always had a very positive experience through them. The facility is always clean and comfortable,I would recommend them over any other vet I have been to in the area!
My husband and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Davis for years. She is very knowledgeable, and she is also very compassionate and caring. She is clearly not in this job for the money, as one other reviewer suggested (and frankly, vets do not make as much money as one might think anyway). Dr. Davis genuinely cares about her patients as if they were her own pets (or children). She has provided excellent care for our dogs and cats --- even providing 5+ star care for our cat that was on a feeding tube for two years. She even recently gave her time and efforts to help us rescue an abandoned baby bird. Very few vets will go that extra mile, but Dr. Davis is always willing to go the extra mile for any of her patients. My husband and I are very picky about who provides care for our beloved pets, but we trust Ambassador and Dr. Davis completely. I would highly recommend her and her clinic.
We've tried other vets around town and this has been the best so far! We've waited hours to be seen before at other vets and have even received rude service from others, but the worst is when other vets tack on unnecessary items onto the bill and not even say anything about it. Ambassador gave us a list of recommended treatment's for us to choose from before billing us! This facility is all around wonderful, kind, and a clean establishment. The staff was great as well not to mention the prices are affordable. They're not trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible and they seem to genuinely care about the animals they're seeing. While we were waiting to be seen a woman said she had been going there for 20+ years. Obviously they're good and we're no longer going anywhere else.
