I love Hilltop. Dr. Gibbs and Dr. Alison S. are wonderful, and the entire staff really loves their jobs and cares for all the animals. They have done a great job with my dogs double leg surgery and follow up care. And today, they took in an emergency case and were wonderful to that dog as well.

Loved this vet office for years.. Techs are wonderful and caring as well as the docs. What I disagree with is the practice does not believe in sedating your animal prior to euthanasia. I had a horrible experience watching my sweet little dog leave this earth yelling and clawing at me. I did speak to the doc about the practice and was told the sedation may kill the dog causing a much more painful death. I have called multiple practices and no one else does this.. I am truly sorry I feel I can not go back to the practice with my new dog. I hope in the future they will change their practice and help the animals have an easier death.

Made an appt. to have our cat fixed. Was told one price on the phone and when I got there at 7:30am with the cat who had not eaten since the night before was then told it would be $200.00 MORE!!!!! I told the lady at the front desk that was NOT the price she had given me and she told me she was sorry. I then asked to speak to the Vet only to be told she would not be in until 9:00 am. I asked why i was told to have the cat there at 7:30 am if the doctor would not be in for another hour and a half. She did not give be an answer. I left with our cat and will NEVER go there again and I plan to tell EVERBODY I know to stay away!!!!! I should have looked online before I made an appt. because I found other sites that people had said the same thing about getting there and up charges. Be careful before you even think about this place!

Hilltop is now under new ownership (again). The vet is Dr. Gibbs who graduated from the vet school at NCSU. We moved to the area and started visiting this practice after leaving a very well established, large vet in Apex. So far, we've been so impressed with Dr. Gibbs and his vet tecs (especially Sarah!). Our dog and cat were seen together in the summer and were both given individual attention. We weren't rushed into one appointment but rather were given what seemed like two appointments back to back. Sarah is always kind when she comes to take the animals to the back and explains how they do when they take fluids. Dr. Gibbs is very knowledgeable and is down to earth with the owners. He listens to the symptoms and gives his opinion slowly enough that you can understand what he's saying. If you don't understand and need to ask questions, he takes his time to address your concerns without making you feel rushed. Our cat is currently going through some trouble and he has been as upfront about the cost as he can be verbally and always offers to give a concrete list of prices before the procedures are performed. He also doesn't make you feel awful for needing to consider the cost of the procedures before you make a final decision. I highly recommend this practice and would follow Dr. Gibbs should he ever leave the area.

I love the folks at Hilltop Animal Hospital. I had to have my cat euthanized last week and Dr. McBride was amazing. I know that's the toughest part of her job and I admire her and her staff for the strength they have in dealing with this situation. They are so caring and even though it was tough on her, she still tried to comfort me.
