I was very pleased with the service I received at CVS. No money up front, and the staff was very compassionate when they told me my dog had cancer, and would most likely not make it through surgery. She died with dignity, and CVS was caring enough to mail me her collar, a plaque with her paw print on it, and a condolence card signed by many of those that work there. I honestly like them more than my current vet, and am considering changing it to CVS.
I cannot give less than 1 star, so imagine if none were selected. Up front terrible after hours service. I brought a cat up after hours. First off the place literally is behind a bowling alley, not a good location. Terrible to find in the dark, poor building maintenance. The worst part was the blatant "Lets do every test to find out what it is". Initially my cat presented with tender abdomen and difficulty urinating. Not that hard to figure out its a UTI. Literally the guy presenting was just circling "were gonna do this, and this and this and this". So over $950 dollars later, the "Doctors" advise that it is a combination of stones blocking my cats urinary tract. Literally just tells me its going to be $2500 to fix and when can they get started. I told them to return my cat, I will square up, and get a second opinion. So you may ask yourself, well its after hours. They wanted to do the surgery the next day..during the day...while the sun is out..not after hours. I took my cat to a real vet who looked over my cat, determined a much simpler procedure (USING THE CHARTS AND XRAYS PROVIDED BY THIS LOCATION) was required. Also note that my regular vet indicated that this hackjob (my words) nicked the urethra causing leakage. All that for a thousand bucks. Now dont get me wrong, I am not a vet, I dont know what all is involved, and honestly its not really just the money. I can afford it, im not concerned too much about that, however this place is just literally BANKING on you being flustered and tired and willing to turn your wallet upside down for them. I honestly with my whole heart believe that my cat suffered way more here than it would have if I had just waited it out and taken it to my regular vet the next day. 0/5 stars, I hope this place rides my $1000 straight to hell.
I was referred to this office for my cat by my vet back home just for an outpatient abdominal ultrasound procedure. It was easy to schedule the appointment; however, during drop-off, they seemed confused about the referral even though my vet had sent over the referral yesterday evening and despite my talking to them on the phone the day before. I even talked to the vet tech. who would assisting with the ultrasound. When I went to pick my cat up, I asked for notes or any news/reports on my cat's ultrasound. The girl at the front desk, who was extremely nice and polite, said that she did not see anything in her computer about my cat. I would like to state that this receptionist is by no means responsible for the problems I encountered. I put over $500 into an ultrasound and biopsy. All I wanted to know is what they saw on the ultrasound. I had no problem waiting for biopsy results. I also received no instructions on how she should be treated or what my next steps would be on taking care of her for the rest of the night. For instance, if the individual who performed the ultrasound thinks it is cancer, how should I take care of my cat for the next couple of days? So, the next morning arrives and my vet from back home calls me stating that he still does not have results from the ultrasound or the biopsy. I was told these would be given to him the next day. Evening comes around and still nothing. Time is critical for me because if my cat does have lymphoma in her GI tract, I don't want her to suffer as she seems to be in pain and it is clearly advanced given her condition. If my cat does not have lymphoma, I need to figure out what I'm going to do because time is running out. I understand that I am not the only patient at this practice. I do not believe my cat should be treated any better than the next; however, the vet conveyed no compassion, care, or concern for my pet. I never received any follow-up calls on when the results would be delivered. I wish my experience would have been better, but it was not. My advice to pet owners is to go elsewhere for any vet services for your loved ones.
Been taking my dogs there for years and always receive prompt, professional and caring service. Recommended.
I tried to volunteer at this emergency pet care center. I told them I would do anything they wanted for free. And low and behold.... They actually told me that I wasn't needed and that they didn't care. Was I surprised? Yes. Will I be bringing any of my animals there no. The doctor would have excepted free painting, pressure washing, or even new furniture for their waiting room, but noooo... Apparently the desk girl makes all the decisions, and refused all help labor or monetary. I consider this place a joke and would not recommend it for a routine exam. Sad.
