Not cheap but that's what you get when you need an emergency vet in the middle of the night on a weekend. I've been in this situation three times now in the past few years and they've done more than all right by me. And the most recent time, about 3 weeks ago, I found a feral kitten that had been hit by a car and I brought it in and we determined together that it had to be put down. I think that since I offered to hold the poor thing as it went under -- one of the saddest experiences I've had in a while -- and I offered to bury it myself, they only charged me 25 bucks, while the standard charge was a bit more, like 75 or 100, I think. I think they also saw how distraught I was over the kitten, too. They've put down two animals for me over the past 4-5 years, and helped save one other, and while more expensive than a daytime vet, frankly I'm not sure it was that much more, at least in my case. So I don't know what's up with the reviewers who say they got charged so much, but that was not my experience. They've been there when I needed them, and they did a very, very good job those three times. And it's always been at 4:00 in the morning or something too, and a pretty stressful occasion.

Our outdoor cat couldn't get up the steps at 6 am; he's so furry I could tell his belly had been nearly ripped open in a cat fight but we knew he was sick. Dr Harrington and her assistant were very kindly - looked him over closely and found some blood, Took him back, shaved him down found all the lesions and cleaned and glued some pretty big wounds, gave me antibiotic and got us on our way for $150. My regular vet charges that much for going in for shots and heart worm meds. I have no complaints and was VERY satisfied. I sympathize with reviewers who were shocked at much larger bills when surgery was needed at the Emergency clinic for their pets .... BUT try taking your pet to NC State Vet school for surgery -- and be prepared to be happy if the bill is only a few thousand.

Staff was very unprofessional and rude. Please try and take your pet to anywhere else before you have to go here as a last resort.

My beloved Blue Heeler was in pain and in need of IMMEDIATE attention. The wonderful people at this clinic helped me and my dog at a moment's notice. They were kind, caring and made a terrible time for us so much less terrible. They took the time to pay special attention to our very special dog, who was more human than dog, and they were compassionate and understanding as well. If you have a pet emergency, I highly recommend this clinic. Thank you Pet Emergency Clinic of Pitt County. You were there for my family and you were excellent. Five Stars.

I took one of my female dogs that had given birth to three puppies and then was unable to have the last two. After the brief exam by the vet I was told to wait for someone to discuss the bill that I was to pay UPFRONT. It was $1500.00. I was then told to leave for a couple of hours and come back to pick her up. After 2 hours I called and was told another emergency came in and since my dog seemed to be stable they chose to do the other emergency. They had NOT even started the c-section. Two and a half hours later I was able to get my dog. Needless to say both puppies were dead! I will NEVER go back there again. They are truly all about the money being paid up front then you are at their mercy.
