Absolutely amazing support and staff. Our cat, Franklin, was extremely sick over the holidays. We rushed him to the emergency vet to be greeted immediately by a very knowledgeable lady, Dr. Holland. She recommended test to conclude probable causes, Franklin was kept overnight where I was encouraged to call and check on him frequently, and I received morning calls with updates on his progression. Franklin has made a great recovery and overall, I would highly recommend their services to animal owners and lovers alike !!!
My cat was very ill with a urinary blockage and they had the most kind and patient staff I could have asked for. They got my cat seen quickly and waited until they took him into the back to start treatment before asking for a payment (besides the initial $90 emergency check up fee which they collected upon arrival.) They said I needed to pay a low end estimate of what his stay there would cost and I paid it. During his stay his doctors were very kind to him, and me. They answered any questions I had (even the ridiculous illogical ones that were due to lack of sleep because I was worried about him). They let me visit him often to check on his condition. When he got to go home, they ended up owing me money back from their low end estimate. I didn't have the card with me, and today they called to REMIND me that they owed money back. This veterinary hospital has the nicest staff you will ever meet, they sincerely want to help the animals, and they care about the animals comfort during their stay as well as their health. I cannot recommend them enough if you are in need of emergency animal services or just in need of a check up for your pet. Its been a little over a week since he has come home and he is doing very well. If we ever have another emergency with my pet I know where we will be taking him. I didn't trust them at first, not because they are untrustworthy, but because when your animal is sick you want to feel as if they are in the best hands possible, and I had read a bad review for them on here. I now know putting my cats life in their hands was the best thing I could have done for him. I cannot give them enough praise for how great of a facility they run.
I will never take another animal or suggest this place to anyone!!!!! Tuesday night I took my blue heeler to have her seen. When I got home from work I noticed that she just wasn't herself, laying around, wouldn't play with the children or our other dogs, she started to vomit and fell over like she was drunk. I jumped up, put her in the car and took her to this clinic. I filled out a new patient paper with symptoms and they were quick to take my money before she was even seen. I sat there forever and no-one even acknowledged that we were there after receiving what they wanted. The longer I sat the I became frustrated. I walked up and asked the lady when will my baby be seen and she said they would be with me soon. Really! I have been here this long and soon! The young lady at the front desk said she seemed ok maybe she just got to hot. I asked for my money back and left. On Wednesday I was able to get my puppy to our regular vet only to be diagnosed with PARVO! I told my regular vet about the After Hours Emergency Vet and what we went through. She said that if they would have seen her and we could have started treatment sooner my puppy could have a better chance of survival. So now, we are doing everything we can to make my puppy comfortable and get through this. We are holding on to hope and prayers at this point. I have to take her back to the vet today for more fluids. I have been told that if we do not start seeing some improvements with in the next 24 hours that we will have to discuss other options.
My daughter's dog was bitten by a copperhead, and we called the Veterinary Hospital. This was fortunately our first emergency experience with a pet. The receptionist was extremely kind and reassuring. We arrived to find the waiting room packed, however we were treated as if our dog was the most important animal to them, just as she is to us. The communication was fantastic; they had to take her back quickly, as she was beginning to have difficulty breathing. We were updated frequently, on her progress, as well as the anticipated cost. We finally were able to see our precious Daisy, and felt so comforted by the care she was receiving. She stayed overnight, and we called and checked on her. Each time we called, we were given information in great detail about her progress, and never once felt like the vet was in a rush to get us off the phone in order to get to the next task. I hope of course, not to have another need for emergency care for our pets, however it is a peaceful assurance to know that they are there. The staff at VRHOH made our experience much easier to deal with.
First Off I took my dog on Thursday for Bladder stones. They sent her home with Clavamox 250 mg, Tramidol 50mg, Phenobarb 32.4 mg, and Levetiracetam ER 500 mg. She never had seizures in her entire 6 years of life. Saturday night she started having violent seizures. We took her back on Sunday. The DR told me he would be ok a dog that had seizures every once in awhile. I felt that it was a quality of life issue for the dog. She looked to me like she was suffering. I know my dog. I could not let her suffer like that. He said let him keep her one more night. I was reluctant but I didn’t want her to die. They sent her home on Wednesday and she went to sleep on her own. They admitted to me that the cause of her death was the Pain medicine. I am writing this review to help others who may be thinking of taking their pets here. DO NOT DO IT! They are only out for money and they do not care about the health and welfare of your animal!
