There was some confusion steming from a misunderstanding but they were fair and willing to work with me.

I was not surprised to see the above review. I had a similar experience at Northview years ago and vowed never to go back. After last minute vacation plans I needed a place to board my dog for a few days and the only place that had availability was this hospital. I had my dog at my vet only 30 days prior and she was up to date on all vaccinations. The secretary seemed bent on finding something missing. The list seemed to get longer. Once I arrived they told me she needed a booster shot for $47 of the same vaccine she had 30 days prior and when she was done tallying 3 days worth of boarding the total was $127. I was floored....then I remembered reading on the website that they charged extra for walking the dog outside....I said, if you don't walk the animal outside then where do they go to the bathroom and she proceeds to tell me that my 60lb german shepherd would have a run roughly the size of a large closet to do her business. About this time a customer of theirs walks in with a heartworm appt. She tells them while she is there she would like the vet to look at a spot on her dogs leg. The receptionist has this pasted fake smile that never waivers and tells the woman she will have to wait an extra 20-30 minutes and they will have to charge an extra exam fee. When their customer finds out that she will not even be able to get her pets medication that day because it has to be specially formuated at a pharmacy since it is no longer on the market, the woman seemed surprised since none of this was told to her previously. The customer finally tells them to just do the test and she will forego having the vet look at her pets leg. She sits down with a bewildered and frustrated look on her face.Meanwhile some other woman employee comes to the counter and is on the computer and interrupts the conversation I am having with the pasted, fake cold smile of receptionist #1 and tells me how this is all for my pets safety, to which I tell her I just cannot understand the expense at this point I realize there is no other place and when I am ready to hand them my card and suck it up they tell me that they had a discussion and would not be able to board my dog.(20 minutes earlier they could) The whole thing was surreal since they treat customers and pets extremely cold and uncaring and when you voice any concern about costs or services they treat you as if you are the one being unreasonable!!! If every pet owner had to pay this amount very very few people would own pets. I guess it is so different than what I am used to experiencing at the vet I normally go to that I had to sit down and write this review. In my experience at my vet my dog not only would have had her test but the vet gladly would have looked at her leg if I asked for no added charge. Why? Because they care about the health of my pets and because they are not there to money grub! They truly care for the health and safety of the animals. It truly was an eye opener to see what this vet's customers are used to experiencing, and paying for. Please, please stay away from this vet! They managed to ruin my day and I hope to prevent anyone else from the same experience I had! I was sorry to read about the owners with the dying dog, but I truly do know exactly what they experienced!

On 9/23/11, we went this office with our chihuahua dying in our arms. It was around 3 pm & there appeared to be no one there except the receptionist. She didn't appear to care at all about the situation. My husband asked her for help; she took her time going to the back only to come back & say there was no one there to help. (Why didn't she know this already; why waste valuable time???) Office hours on Fridays are supposed to be until 6 pm. Why was no one there??? Then my husband asked if there was another local practice that could help. She mentioned another one. My husband had to ask if she would please call them to see if anyone was there to help us. She didn't appear to want to pursue it & help, but she finally did. They had no one to help either. By the time my husband returned to the car, my chihuahua's heart beat two more times & stopped. I wonder how he would be if there had been someone there who actually cared & tried to help. I do NOT recommend this hospital. Please save yourself time by avoiding this one, you may also save a life!
