Dr. Goetz and her staff are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond to make sure your pet is cared for in a way that is 2nd to none. Dr. Goetz performed multiple surgeries on my rescue Shih Tzu, Teddy. I received phone calls from her and her staff on the days following his surgeries to make sure he was doing OK and adjusting to his new home with me. Dr. Goetz gives her patients her home phone number in case of emergency. In all the vets I have ever known, none have ever done this for me. Her staff are all amazing! They are kind, professional, and spend time with you to explain everything that has been done with your pet and everything that you need to do as follow up. Her hours are very flexible to allow for working parents.
I took my pup to The Animal Hospital at Brier Creek but needless to say, I will not be going back. The ladies at the front desk were always very nice and the techs were wonderful and extremely knowledgeable – I honestly can’t say enough positive things about them…the doctor…ehhh, not so much. First off, if I’m going to be paying for a doctor visit, I expect to actually see that doctor, as I do not count the mere 2 minutes where she briefly looks at my dog to count. The appointment was rushed and the doctor was completely unprofessional, condescending, and ignorant – this is not the type of care of want for my dog. Instead of insisting that I buy this or buy that from you (which I can easily get for a fraction of a price elsewhere – I’m not new to this), please, examine my dog. Thank goodness for the tech..she spent time with me discussing preventive care and took the time to actually answer my questions. Furthermore, we had gotten our baby from the shelter and even though we brought proof that she was fully vaccinated (1 year Rabies, 3-series of Distempter, 1 year Bordetella), Dr. Goetz insisted, more like forced us, to start from scratch and completely revaccinate everything (which, might I add is pretty expensive – I would be charged for a visit each time my dog was to receive a shot). I opposed and contacted a good friend who works in this field but unfortunately isn’t close enough to be our vet and said this woman was just looking for my money. I do not mind spending money on my dog, I realize dogs are an expense and require good healthcare, but there are plenty of vets in the Raleigh/Durham area…plenty of good, honest vets – the woman is not one of them. Do yourself and your pet a favor, seek better vet care elsewhere.
We LOVE this place! We first discovered it when we moved to the area and our Shih-Tzu was very sick. Dr. Goetz and her staff took excellent care of her. The entire staff is just a pleasure to deal with. We now take our MinPin and our newest rescued Shih-Tzu to Dr. Goetz and we would never dream of going anywhere else.
For my new kitty I needed to have all of the shots for him. I called and they gave me the price, a la carte. Then they mentioned that all of those plus lots more things are included in their year long silver or gold plan (this being $44/month). I went in for the appointment, and was showed a sheet on the gold plan with deliverables (again, showing $44/month for year). I agreed to get that. Then after most of the work was done, I was given the credit card authorization form, and within the fine print it said there is also a $50 enrollment fee. WHAT?? When I presented this to them, the nurse and the office manager both appeared confused that their own flyer they show didn't say anything about the fee. But said nothing could be done about it, and I would have to pay it. What a hoax! If they really did feel a mistake was made, then they shouldn't charge it. Otherwise, it looks to be on purpose. I ended up paying for just whatever was done that day. Nothing is worse than when companies try to swindle money... or won't make an effort to correct if it indeed was just an error.
We have been taking our Terrier-mix rescue dog to AHBC since before his first birthday. Each visit has been with professional, caring staff. Doctors and techs are very caring, attentive not only to the pet but also to the owner. Business staff are just as professional and make every effort to accommodate late-minute requests. 5 stars for (1) immediate care, and (2) prompt treatment follow-up and (3) day-after aftercare follow-up... something we had not seen in our other vet.
