I have been a very satisfied customer! My pet was enrolled in the puppy plan, which was very cost effective. As a medical professional myself, I feel that my dog has received excellent care. Everyone, from the receptionists to the techs, nurses, and veterinarians has been very friendly and caring. I needed to take my puppy in this morning as an emergency visit, and they were very accommodating and reassuring. The bill was reviewed with me in advance, so I have an excellent idea of what to expect. If further tests are needed, they call to get permission. Most importantly, the vets are excellent at communication, calling to give their medical opinion as well as updates. I would highly recommend Banfield at Brier Creek! They are awesome!
Our dog Missy was a patient of Banfield Pet Hospital from the moment we brought her home. The employees at the Brier Creek location always provided her with excellent care. They were extremely kind to us and took their time with Missy. We never felt like they were rushing through the examination of Missy and they listened to us and any concerns we had regarding Missy's health. No matter how busy they were, they were always happy to see Missy. Thank you to the Brier Creek Banfield Pet Hospital team!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. I had my puppy neutered here and can only conclude that he was left unattended for hours once the procedure was done. The surgery site was red, swollen and bruised when I picked him up. They also left the catheter in his front leg! His recovery time ended up being much longer and more painful than was necessary. I ended up paying more at an emergency hospital than I did for his surgery.
I've taken my pets to Banfield at Briercreek for years and have always been satisfied with the care my "babies" have gotten. I am extremely pleased with the team there now and absolutely appreciate the compassion and care that their medical and supporting staff provide. I recently had to come to the painful decision to let go of one of my dogs...my family and I sat down with Dr. Shannon Burroughs and spent time discussing options and her own personal experiences. I couldn't have been more thankful for her heartfelt support in what ever we decided. She's a jewel that I hope is recognized for her amazing skill both with our furry friends and we humans, alike. It took just over 2 months for my family and I to come to our decision and I can't thank this team enough for their kindness and support during this difficult time. I'd recommend them to anyone.
My experience at this Banfield Pet Hospital has been atrocious!! I apologize up front for the length! I adopted my puppy from a rescue at 2 months and brought her in for a routine first visit where we complained that our puppy had been itchy and scratching since we first adopted her. The doctor said it could be a food allergy and suggested we change the food which we did and it didn't work. We returned since the problem was not resolved and were told it might be a bacterial infection. We were given antibiotics which ran us at about 30 dollars. After a week we could tell this wasn't working and called again. This time when we brought her in they did a skin scrape for mites which came back negative and a fungal infection test which came back negative and were sent on our way. The next time we went in we complained again and they said it must be fleas, which they diagnosed from across the room without even looking at her fur!! We were given expensive flea shampoo and antibiotics again which ran us about 90 dollars. After all this I talked to the parents of a few of her brothers and found out they had been diagnosed with demodex and successfully treated. I told the doctors this and requested a skin scrape be done for free since by now I have easily spent $200 on medicine we didn't need and put my puppy through 3 months of uncontrollable itching! We were seen by the doctor who sees dogs with many problems and she was amazing, as was her assistant! They did three skin scrapes for free which all came back positive. A plan of action was put into place and we were told we could start her on Ivermectin when her heartworm medicine was out of her system. Success! I told you what she had and you were able to confirm it! Now comes the worst part!! I took my puppy in to be spayed in the morning and received a phone call about two hours after dropping her off. This is about how the conversation went: Receptionist/Nurse: We were wondering if you wanted to do another skin scrape or just go ahead with the medicine? Me: Just go ahead with the medicine. Thanks! Bye! 30 mins. later Receptionist/Nurse: The doctor really suggests doing another skin scrape because demodex is not itchy. (Wait wait what? I'm no vet but I've seen many articles saying it is!) Me: I don't want another skin scrape she's already had four. I just want the medicine. Her three brothers had it and I'm 99.9 percent sure that's what she has. Bye 30 mins. later Receptionist/Nurse: We would really like to do another skin scrape because demodex is not contagious so it is probably the other kind of mange. Me: I read that it can be passed on to the puppies if the mother had it while she was pregnant. R/N: No that's not true we would like to do another skin scrape because if it's the other type of mange the treatment is different. Me: I just want the medicine. I know that she has demodex! Thanks! Bye! 30 mins. later R/N: We really would like to do another skin scrape to make sure that it's demodex and then we will give you the medicine. Me: Her brothers have it and were treated, she had three skin scrapes last time we were there and all were positive! I just want the medicine! R/N: Our notes say that they were negative. Please hold (10 mins pass). I'm so embarrassed I talked to someone who was here and they said yes they were positive. We will go ahead with the medicine. No apology...no discount...making me freak out and get angry while you have my puppy in surgery! A bunch of incompetent fools have my puppy in surgery!! Went to pick her up and she was fine but when they told me the total it was $30 more than estimated. I asked why and she said "O for the skin scrape" WHAT I SAID NO SKIN SCRAPE! They said that it was a mistake and took it off....worst vet ever! Please do not waste your time or risk your pets health and sanity!!
