Dr. Neligon is bar none the best Vet we've ever had. I can't speak to all the negative reviews on Dr. Pearce but Dr. Neligon is excellent. She cares immensely and is very diligent on follow up.

After 17 years of dedicated service with Lesesville Animal Hospital, I am saddened and hurt by our experience during the passing of our dog. Dr. Pearce had been our dog's vet for 14 years which included boarding services. During a weekend boarding our 14 year old dog passed away in his kennel on a Sunday afternoon prior to the pick up hour they are opened on Sunday. He had been experiencing declining health, so his passing was not totally unexpected. However, we did not anticipate it to occur during his week-end boarding experience. The weekend assistant phoned us 30 minutes before we were to pick him up from boarding telling us the news and that Dr. Pearce told her to call us. We received no follow up call from Dr. Pearce, no condolences , nothing. 17 years as a customer and my beloved pet passes away in their care and he instructs a part time assistant to inform us. Upon arrival to collect our dog's belongings we were presented with a $300 bill which included tests and vaccinations (for a dying dog) that we did not authorize. I am deeply saddened by this experience and lack of compassion Dr. Pearce displayed during a very painful event for my family. This is not the kind of treatment anyone would expect from an animal doctor and caregiver. We will never recorded this vet to anyone.. Ever.

I highly recommend searching for a different practice. Every time I go in that place, someone shoves a form in my face for me to sign to authorize a host of unnecessary services and vaccines. I took a kitten in to simply have him neutered and vaccinated for rabies and was asked to sign an estimate for $496! They decided that some extra vaccinations, microchipping, anesthesia screening, and an E-collar would be dandy too. If you are not aggressive about telling them what you don't want done, you will pay. Another minus - they will not approve prescriptions for medicines you order online. They will match the price but that defeats half the purpose of avoiding the hassle driving there. They are competent, yes, but pricey and uncaring.

We have seen all of the vets in the practice and most are fantastic. The secretaries and vet techs are great but the owner, Dr. Harold Pearce couldn't appear to care less about your pet. We found our 3 yr old dog collapsed on the floor a couple mornings ago. We called at 7:30 when they opened to let them know we were on our way. They told us the Dr wouldn't be in until 8:00 but that they could take her in and get her started. We arrived and were told that the Dr was aware of the situation and they hoped he would be in sooner than later. 8:20 rolls around and still no Dr. I ask where he is and they call him. His wife says she is "trying to get him out the door." He finally strolls in at 8:45 with no urgency in his stride! Remember, he was notified we were there with an urgent situation at 7:30! The only good thing about this trip was that we were transferred to VSH, a practice that has Drs who actually care about the pets. Do your pet a favor and if Dr Pearce is working, go elsewhere! As for us, we will be changing practices.

Leesville Animal Hospital is a one-stop shop that takes care of my dog's every need (day camp, grooming, veterinary needs, etc.). The staff know my dog by name and they are always excited to see him. He absolutely adores going here for doggie day camp and comes home tired and happy every time. I believe ownership changed hands recently and things haven't seemed to fall off or change drastically in any way (beyond some nice lobby renovations). I highly recommend taking your pets here.
