Love this Office. Everyone is friendly with the animals and people. We have received great car for our injured dog. You won't be disappointed taking your furbaby here.
I first started going to Scott's Creek in 2011 when I rescued a puppy off the streets. Having been through a rough time, this particular dog was not very friendly with many people at all. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the staff, particular Dr. Casey treat my baby as though she was the sweetest puppy in the world despite her attempts to bite every one of them. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep this dog. About a year later though, I was offered a service dog. I happily accepted and took this dog back to Scott's Creek, where I found out that my dog would not be able to see Dr. Casey. I was disappointed but brought him in anyway. The new vet seemed very quick to rush through the checkup and barely attentive to any concerns I had about my dogs health. Given his status as a working animal, I make his health my number one priority and to have professionals that treat me as if I'm stupid to bring my dog in for more than his yearly physical is outright insulting. Furthermore, the prices are outrageous! I should not have to spend 60 dollars on a rabies shot that I can get elsewhere for 10!
This is not relating to the large animal clinic. This is about my cat Ping Ping. I had been trying for 3 months to get proper help for my cat. I first took her to a vet in Mt. City Tn.. They didn't help. She got worse. Therefor,I took her to Scotts Creek Vet on Scotts Creek. Dr. DeGraaff didn't check her mouth for infection. He just saw puss from one side of her nose and eye weeping on the same side. He had been told about the other vet work. Ping got sicker so I took her back to Keywood vets in Tn.. They pulled the wrong tooth, not even close to the problem area. Vets need to SLOW DOWN, be more concerned about the pets and less concerned about how many animals they can see in a day. Ping would have died had I not taken her to Animal Emergency & Pet Care Clinic in Boone, NC. MY heart is broken, these vets should have found the problem. I spent $95.19 waisted money at SCAH & apx. $400 at Keywood vet. Thank God I took Ping to AE & PCC. They took the time to see the problem. They extracted a piece of root from the tooth that Dr. Britt extracted plus extracted the canine tooth on the upper left side which had created a fistula. This had been there so long that it had eaton bones in her nose. This should have never got to this point. I hope this humbles these vet so in the future they will take a little more time with the animals that need them to love and care for them. All the large animal care I have had with Dr. Cartner and his staff were 5 star. Small animals needs help. If Dr, Cartner reads this please do something about the small animal clinic. I am so heart broken that Ping had to go thru such pain for so long.
I do not recommend. After our puppy had surgery there was no post- op care instructions ...... a lot of red flags on care giving there.
I absolutely love Dr. Cartner and his staff. They are very friendly and truly enjoy working with animals. They work with you and take time with each pet and talk things out with you to make sure all your questions are answered. If you have large animals such as horses or cattle, please give his office a call in Stony Point.
