We have been using Oldtown Veterinary Hospital since 1985. Their compassion level is high. They have been with us in joy (new pets), worry (sick pets), and anguish (dying pets). More than one vet has held my hand while I sobbed over a pet most people would consider trifling (pet rats). The professional standards at Oldtown are very high as well. They monitor medications carefully and treat our pets appropriately. Rest assured, I wouldn't be taking my four-footed family members to this practice for very nearly 30 years if I didn't have confidence in them.
I took my dog Foxy to Old town for several years and she was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. The staff for most the part were very friendly and I liked the doctor that Foxy had. Foxy passed away a couple of years ago at the vets office. They were kind but I never did hear anything from Foxy's doctor. She was not there the day Foxy died but I thought I would hear from her. I did get a card from the office. I guess she was busy, but it would have been nice to hear from her. Other than that I think Old Town is a great place to take your pets.
We trust Dr. Gates. She has been there for us when we have brought new kittens home, when we rescued a small dog from a puppy mill at the age of 5. Through all of our animals currently 3 dogs and 2 cats, in the beginning and in the end, Dr. Gates has always been there with us, as a surgeon, a dentist (the puppy mill dog had so many teeth pulled, we are surprised that she can eat "greenies" ), a sounding board, a friend and to know when it is time to say goodbye, Dr. Gates has been there every step of the way. It gives us great pleasure to recommend Dr. Gates, who goes above and beyond for her patients well being.
Excellent office with professional staff and down to earth veterinarians. Dr Rush did perfect minor surgery on my pup to fix entropion issue. Highly recommended office...
This Vet kills cats for money. On 2 separate occasions 2 different cats where brought in for different issues both where taken into the back and then soon after went into "cardiac arrest". we where asked what we wanted to do and had no choice but to put both down. Mind you these where completely separate days. Its sad and messed up they would do something like that to try and make money. A vet is supposed to be there to help not kill your animals.
