My 18-year-old cat became ill and, being new to this area, I searched for a vet close by with good reviews. I can say now that Chalco Hills Animal Hospital is one of the best vets I've been to, and I have had animals all my life in various states, so I have had many experiences with those that fall short. I brought my cat to Dr. Kreager and she took her time to examine him. Her tech, Ashley, was also very concerned and very attentive. After bloodwork determined he was borderline fatally anemic, she offered me several options and took the time to explain the possible causes and treatments. Because he was so old, I opted to take him home with some steroids, in case the cause was autoimmune. This was on a Thursday. On Friday, Ashley called to check on us, and when I said that I was pretty concerned because he wouldn't eat, she gave me advice on how to make a paste to feed him. Sadly, even the food did not give him his strength back and by Friday night he had grown so feeble he could not walk, yet he fought on. On Saturday morning, I called and left a voicemail- it was a Saturday that the hospital was not open, but they had told me calls would be answered. Within minutes, Dr. Kreager called me back. She came to the hospital for us, and she helped my cat go with peace and dignity. I am SO grateful for Dr. Kreager and Ashley. Together they helped assure me that I had done what I could, and when I came to a decision, the doctor came to our aid instead of making me go to the emergency clinic. My last moments with my cat were in private, and he left the world with dignity. I have two other cats and I plan to take them in to see Dr. Kreager soon. I highly recommend her and the hospital.
Loved the hospital...Dr Kreager was a lifesaver and was able to get us scheduled right away and wasted no time in getting to know our 2 dogs. She was patient, hand-on and very receptive to the nuances of each dog. Thanks! Karah
I went to the open house when Chalco Hills Animal Hospital first opened. At the time, I was not actively looking to change veterinarians, however, I did have them do a grooming for me on my Cavachon. I have to admit that they have done the best grooming overall than all the other groomers I have used. I plan on bringing my dog, Coco, to the vet when her next procedure is due. More to follow on how I would rate the Dr. Kreager after Coco sees her for her next procedure.
Took my 6 year old Russian Blue cat to Chalco Hills for our first visit since I got her about a year ago. Dr. Heather Kreager was extremely kind and helpful! The cost was reasonable, and the tech/vet were very straightforward about everything. I would recommend!
Yesterday, I came home to see that my dog had eaten the Easter candy left on the counter. Unfortunately, our regular vet didn't have time to see Benny so I called this place. They were able to see him right away. I was very pleased with the service and attention they gave my dog.
