Dr. Z, is a great vet who takes a lengthy opportunity to discuss every option available. He really does like to talk and for many that is a fantastic match (vet/pet parent). His office is a family style practice, he does everything himself and his wife is stationed at the front of the office to take you payment, book appointments etc. I wonder if it's because he's in Cranford, or for some other reason, he's cautious about treatment (conservative to an extreme). He withheld a treatment option out of concern that my pet might urinate causing me anger. Please understand, his treatment wasn't incorrect, I just found it odd that he would withhold treatment because of inconveniencing me. Story is, 13 y/o giant breed with obvious s/s of arthritis, obvious pain, no complications. He prescribed her Cox2 Rimadyl @ 100 mg (she's 130 lb) so this is a conservative dose. Again, this is not inappropriate at all. He was very thorough and very clearly competent. I'm a Vet Tech, and Paramedic who personally suffers with pain. When I explained this and said I believed she was beyond the Cox2, he looked at me quite strangely. Again, he did nothing wrong, he didn't cause additional suffering and his treatment is very appropriate. I think I was just put off by the conservative treatment and comment that an alternate treatment might cause her to drink more and therefore pee more, potentially then peeing the house. If my old (13 is beyond life expectancy for this breed) girl peed in the house, I would simply clean it. She never goes in the house unless it's an accident. So, I can't say Dr. Z is bad or that my experience is bad, I just prefer a different personality.

Immaculate ...friendly..welcoming office and staff! The doctor spent at least half an hour examining my cat and explaining every procedure. My cat had an infection in his nose that no other doctor had fixed, thanks to this amazing doctor, my cat can breathe and purr normally. By the way, if you thought the days of family values were over, then you should stop in here and meet this couple who have dedicated their lives to the care of not only our pets, but to the owners as well!

I have been taking my animals to the Cranford Veterinary Hospital for over a decade. I have had both cats and a dog. I trust Dr. Zucker completely - he is very upfront and honest in his opinions on treatment, and he also knows his own limitations and will refer you to a specialist if necessary. He IS very clinical, and I guess that can be taken as uncaring, but that is simply not true - he does care about his clients and, more importantly, about their pets. I moved out of the Cranford area approx. 3 years ago, yet I continue to take my pets to Dr. Zucker when needed.

Having used vets in Roselle Park and Kennilworth for my furry friends for a few years I was never really happy. I was delighted to meet Dr. Zuckerman. He is a one man shop, this means you always see the same person, no revolving door care. He is both caring and thoughtful. We recently found it necessary to put down a long loved furry k9. Dr Zucker could not have been more patient and understanding. He gave us time to say our final good by, allowed us options that others may not have allowed. His love of his patients and caring for thsir owners is very apperant. Both he and his staff are professional, they demonstrate what is best about vet practices.

Dr. Zucker's practice is small, but he gives excellent attention to my Aussie mix dog. He asked for history/ copies of previous records for his files, and took great care of her when she was sick. Very thorough in his exam, and took time to answer my questions. Although the place is small and limited in technology, he does make referrals as needed. One gripe - you must pay in cash or check. No Credit accepted.
