Maywood Veterinary Clinic came to my rescue when my cat had an eye infection. At the last moment -- late at night -- I was able to bring my cat and get her checked out and diagnosed within half an hour. Staff and doctor was great and the facility itself was spectacular. I felt very comfortable and so did my cat. I can't think of any other clinic to bring my cat other than Maywood Veterinary Clinic!! Kudos to everyone there for their support and kind hearts!

My wife Tina and I have been taking our first pets to see Dr. Jay Buchholz at the Maywood Veterinary Clinic since 1994 when the clinic was located on Pleasant Ave in Maywood. The staff always greet you with a warm welcome and a smile. Our beloved Rusty and Sophie lived to be 17 & 16 years old. We attribute their long lives to the excellent care they both received at the Maywood Veterinary Clinic. In 2011 we got two new babies, Dusty & Stella and didn't think twice about where we were going to take them for their shots and exams. The waiting period is usually short and the exams are thorough and both the doctors and technicians keep you well informed of any potential problems as well as updates on your beloved pet if he or she happens to be recouperating. What can I say about Dr. Buchholz? He is simply the best, always a warm smile and friendly conversation. Dr. Jay and his dedicated staff always make us feel like family! Thank you Dr. Jay for providing our babies with such excellent care and for a wonderful environment and staff.

I had to bring my cat, Coco, into the Maywood Veterinary Clinic on a Sunday in November of 2013. They were very understanding. I was able to get an appointment immediately and my vet was Dr. Swan who is an absolutely wonderfully thorough and caring vet. He explained everything to me and put my mind immediately at ease about Coco's condition. They kept her for a couple of hours to relieve her from her condition of severe constipation. As I mentioned before, Dr. Swan showed me the x-rays of her stomach because I was concerned that she ingested something that was causing a blockage. Luckily, she didn't, he actually showed me another x-ray of a dog that had ingested a towel that caused a blockage and pointed out the difference to me. After her short stay, she was 100% completely cured! We came back for a follow-up visit to make sure she was okay. The staff is very sympathic and caring, they all were wonderful and the prices are not excessive. I highly recommend the Maywood Veterinary Clinic.

Maywood Vet is a professional, caring group of pet doctors. Dr. Buchholtz is so good with animals by setting them at ease before doing his exam. The staff is caring and you can tell they love animals and will do all they can to make a vet visit as easy as possible. My Chihuahua won't get his nails cut just anywhere. He's a good boy when Maywood's techs take care of him. A true testament of how wonderful the staff is at Maywood Vet. Their prices are fair but the service makes up for it. I would recommend them everytime.

I've been to many animal hospitals but I've never been so baffled at an animal hospital before. They treated my cat Max who had a urinary track infection and the price for it was sky rocket high for some surgery they asked to preform. When i denied and ask to release my cat to take him to my local vet they told us it'd cost us MORE to release him in his condition. he was there two nights and he didn't look any better when i went to visit him. On a Sunday we received a phone call stating that he wasn't eating or drinking water and to come see him. Once we got there it took over an hour for them to open the door for us or even answer the phone. After we finally got inside to see out baby boy they tell us they NEED to do the procedure right away, so we asked to move him ASAP to our local vet. They denied us and told us we had to either do the surgery or put him down....you could only imagine how upset my family and i was. They asked for the money upfront and gave us an ultimatum on our loved on. We couldn't afford to pay for the procedure and they didn't even wanna talk about billing arrangements. There was no sympathy. We lost our loved one that sunday afternoon. I would not recommend going to this clinic if you wish to be with sympathetic people who actually value your four legged family members.
