Dr. Cameron is a world class vet. Anyone remotely close to Montclair should be bringing their pets the Cameron Animal Hospital. My dogs have also seen both Dr. Ruiz and Dr. Miller and they are great too. Cameron Animal Hospital is the only place I would ever bring a cat or a dog.

It has been more than 10 years since I moved away from Montclair to Chicago but I still greatly miss the quality and loving care my many pets received during the 20 or so years that they were patients there, The reason I am writing this is because I'm totally frustrated with the quality and cost of vet care in the Chicago suburbs. I recently took our German Shepherd puppy to our vet for the last in a series of her vaccinations. They did give her a heart worm test and aspirated a cyst to make sure it was benign. That was almost $700. When I asked how much it would cost to spay her, I was told it would be at least $1,600. And, although I've taken five cats and three dogs over the years, they have always demanded full payment up front before any procedures are done. The rates other vets charge are comparable. This makes it almost prohibitively expensive to rescue and own pets. Dr. Cameron used to give us "bulk discounts because we had three cats and a dog. His rates always seemed reasonable -- and in some cases a little low. One of my favorite memories was of Dr. Cameron walking around with a tiny kitten in his shirt pocket, hoping someone would adopt to. We, ourselves, adopted three of our cats there. Don't know if he is still practicing but I will always remember him and his staff fondly.

Dr. Cameron, Dr. Ruiz, and Dr. Miller could not be more loving toward the animals in their care. They go above and beyond, to ensure both patient and caretaker are at ease, and well treated. I've been taking my pets here for over 30 years and I'm still struck by their compassion and generosity. They're GOOD people.

I have been using Dr. Cameron and Cameron Hospital for our pets for the past 26 years and wouldn't go anywhere else for my dog(s)! They are compassionate and explain what is happening. Whenever my pet was ill, I called for an appointment and they took me either the same day or at latest the next day.

I have been taking my dog to this "hospital" for about 2 years. From the attitude of the women at the reception desk, to the over-all lack of concern for my animal, I have chosen to switch vets. I can say that it is my fault for just dealing with them for so long and should have realized sooner that they are just another business concerned with making money over the comfort and care of your animal. My dog was diagnosed with cancer recently and they couldn't have made the experience any more hard on my dog and myself if they actually tried. First off, doctor Cameron didn't even know what type of dog he was talking about when he called me at 7pm to tell me my dog had cancer. Secondly, he had no desire to answer any of my questions about my dog and when he would give me a response it was crass, full of attitude, and then spoke to me as if I was a child. Lastly, he had no sympathy whatsoever and basically just talked prices. I'm not saying that he isn't a qualified doctor but in his extreme old age I feel like he just looks at his patients as dollar signs instead of the community that is helping keep his business alive. Some of women at the counter could also seriously use an attitude adjustment as well. On the other hand there are people there who actually care about your pet and love animals more than money. I have now switched to Oradell Animal Hospital
