The very best and the very worst. I took my one year old kitten to Red Bank and they were amazing. Within a half hour I had a diagnosis. Sadly she was terminally ill and had to be euthanized. Dr. Green was so professional and compassionate and so brilliant at her job. The care was exceptional. It was expensive but worth every penny to finally get an answer on what was wrong with my pet. After my pet was put to sleep I was asked if I would like a paw print of her. I knew it would be my last remembrance of her and it would mean the world to me. I received a beautiful sympathy card in the mail but did not get the paw print. I called and was told it was either LOST or MISPLACED or NEVER DONE. They were very kind and compassionate but there is no excuse for the grief I feel over this. I am totally heartbroken to not have this last remembrance of my Stormie.
We've been clients for over 12 years. Even after we moved out of the area, we've kept bringing our pets there. But lately, though, that they've been getting too busy to maintain their former high standards of quality service. First issue: I tried to get a 30-day refill of Layla's Denamarin but was told I need doctor's approval. Several calls and two visits (25-mile trip) to the pharmacy - was told they couldn't get any doctors to approve it. Paged a doctor twice while I waited without any response. I asked to have Dr. Green call me. Two days and no one called or followed up. I went online to Amazon and ordered a bottle of 75 225mg chewable pills - no doctor approval needed and it was delivered the next day. Denamarin is essentially a supplement for treating liver enzyme issues. At the last refill, I asked Dr. Green why a doctor's approval was needed but got no answer. This time, I couldn't even get through via the pharmacy or directly. Second issue: We paid more than two thousand dollars last year to have our dog Layla's teeth cleaned. One of the reasons we paid so much (compared to other dental clinics in our area) was the promise of lifetime free six-month checkups. The first follow-up checkup was due in July. The appointment was postponed twice by RBVH and we finally got the checkup in August. The next 6-month checkup was scheduled for the beginning of February. Got a call yesterday from the Dental Dept. that this appointment had to be re-scheduled but it could not be before April (9 months since the last one). The secretary who called said the doctor stated that Layla could wait until then. I asked if there were any other choices such as an earlier appointment in January or with another doctor and was told no, there is no other choice. First of all, based on previous experience with other dogs, we know that these checkups are important and we don't want to let them slide. Second of all, we paid a lot of money to get this follow-up care based on what we were promised at that time. Now the RBVH seems to feel that this commitment isn't that important and not a priority to them - we slid from six months to seven months last time and now they want to slide it to nine months between checkups. We've been through a lot with the RBVH doctors and two previous dogs besides Layla and have been happy and loyal - it was expensive but has been worth it. Lately, though, not so much - expensive but not so worth it! I would give more stars based on their past experience but find it hard to go more than three based on recent experience. Other minor complaints include long wait times which I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't for the lack of wifi, cell signal or magazines in the waiting area, not to mention uncomfortable bench seats out in the open thoroughfare. They have wifi by the vending machines which is a little cubby hole next to the rest rooms, but it's isolated behind the pharmacy so you might miss the call when they come out to get you and your pet to bring you into the exam room.
A huge shout-out to Dr Eric Glass for being there when i brought my 13 1/2 year old shepherd mix in. Samantha was having trouble walking and was stumbling and fell over several times; we thought we were going to have to put her down. Dr Glass, a neurologist, observed her and examined her. He met with me and my family and told us the good news. He felt she had a condition brought on by an inner ear infection and would be just fine after a round of strong antibiotics. I'm happy to say that after 5 days of treatment she is greatly improved and will soon be up to her old tricks. Thank you again Dr. Glass for saving Samantha's life!
Unfortunately my dogs have had to make a few emergency visits to Red Bank, however, we have always been treated with respect and both of our dogs lives have been saved from unexpected tragedies. They are now very healthy and very happy! I can't reccomend Red Bank Vet enough for their emergency services!
I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful experiences we had with your rehab department. KIRSTY and her assistant has made MIA our lab feel part of the family. We were treated with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, patience and genuine care of our pet. Furthermore, we had the best experience being sent to My Pet Brace in Pennsylvania. The care of MIA at My PET BRACE was overwhelming with such care that it was worth the money that was invested in her brace. MIA was so happy coming to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital because you have a dedicated staff that really cares about the animals. MIA has regained the strength in her knee with the help of KIRSTY and her assistant that we have recommended RED BANK VETERINARY HOSPITAL to our friends and family. Thank you!!!!!!!
