Wanted me to do a $600 procedure, advocating for a $4,000 surgery. I decided to get another opinion and I'm glad I did. The procedure would have been pointless and should be easily solved with some antibiotics. I went with ABQ pet care because they were open on the weekend. I should have just waited for my normal vet to be open, would have saved the $65 exam fee. On a plus note, I found the front desk employee to be very nice, everyone else was rather rude. At one point I was told "That vet is dead" when talking about what I had paid for the same procedure in the past. Very rude and unprofessional with that comment. I do not get the impression they care about the animals just the money.Will not go back!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I wouldn't have given a star, had that been a choice. The negligence and greed of this clinic lead to an incredibly painful death for my pet. Like a human doctor, a vet should first do no harm. ABQ Petcare seems to follow the dictum, first make as much cash as you can. They tell the patient what they think they want to hear, rather than give an honest assessment of the available treatment options. They want to get as many people in the door as possible, rather than offer quality service to those with appointments. I believe that my pet would still be alive had I not trusted the staff at this clinic. ABQ Petcare provided one of the most awful experiences of my life.

Recently, we had to put our elderly Pomeranian down. The entire staff and doctors at ABQ Pet Care were extremely knowledgeable, sincere and uncommonly caring. We feel so fortunate to have found them especially during such a difficult time. Since then, we have recommended ABQ Pet Care to friends and family who also rave about their experience. I highly recommend ABQ Pet Care and can't say THANK YOU enough to them!

I very rarely feel compelled to write a review for anything, but ABQ Pet Care is so amazing I feel like I need to tell everyone. Up until finding ABQ Pet Care, my experiences with other vets in Albuquerque had been terrible. In fact, VCA had botched my dog's cast (it fell off 20 minutes after leaving). This was the first time I saw Dr. Tim - he gave my dog a proper cast for his broken leg. Since then they have taken excellent care of both mine and my fathers dogs. Every time I go in there they are professional. loving, and compassionate. It is very obvious to me that EVERYONE at ABQ Pet Care truly cares about the animals. As a dog groomer I recommend all my clients to see Dr. Tim! Although not the cheapest (but also not the most expensive) I find that the type of care my dogs receive is well worth the extra bit of money. Thank you so much ABQ Pet Care, you guys are amazing!

This is the worst place in Albuquerque to take your pets. Seems they advocate more for money then they do pets. Took my dog in for dental surgery on a monday. She had xrays and was prescribed medications the week before her surgery. By Thursday after her surgery she was experiencing dry heeving and increased respirations. I took her in and was given a $500 estimate to treat her. I advised the vet she had just had xrays and she advised I was wrong. I told her she needed to double check her records and she did. After admitting she was wrong she advised that my dog needed a second set of xrays because her condition could have changed in a week. The vet did not even check my dogs record before seeing her. If she would have she would have known about the previous xrays and medications that were prescribed a week earlier. Will never take my pets here again.
