These people are awesome. The animals are fine too, don't get me wrong, but I kinda prefer the people. Last time I was there they had both wet and dry treats available, and they were very friendly. I saw a degree on the wall I sure as hell don't have.
Went to get my shots so I could move into my apartment. the front desk staff was friendly, but the nurse and doctor were not at all. I asked why my cat needed them and what ones she needs to be certified to move, they told me they were giving her a one year rabbie shot which is a new mexico law, but they gave her a three year shot, lied to me and gave her a upper respiratory shot, which she didn't need. therefore wasting my money that I didn't have and handled her rudely. My cat is a very friendly cat and does not need to be held down by a stranger. I told them she would be calm if I held her down, but no they had to get a nurse to do it. Rude and I will never be going there again.
I've used Cedarwood for almost ten years now with two of their vets. I've always found the staff and the vets to be caring and compassionate. In emergency situations my pets have either been treated immediately or referred to a facility that could provide quicker acute care for complex problems. Compared to other veterinary clinics I've used in my many ears as a pet owner I rate them top-notch. Dr. Lauer currently cares for my dogs and she has been a valuable resource and trusted medical professional.
Made an appointment to have my pure breed poodle puppies tails docked and dew claws removed with Dr. Lauer. And when I got there, she looked for excuses not to dock the tails if they were not going to be show dogs, and wanted proof of the mother being AKC registered and asked where the father was. Dr. Lauer was very unprofessional and rude and was a huge waste of time because the puppies should have their tails docked within a four day period. Never have I been to such a unprofessional vet.
We bring both of our dogs to Cedarwood. An English Mastiff and Siberian Husky. They are very knowledgeable of specific breeds, large or small. Specific about areas where pets are from as well, since we brought the English Mastiff from Mississippi and the Husky from Kansas as puppies. They knew immediately what preventative care was needed because of the area specific.
