Terrible experience. Dr. Chinn doesn't listen, she tells you her philosophies (Acupuncture) and if you don't agree she is extremely condescending. Our dog was experiencing severe separation anxiety the only help she would give is expensive unnecessary blood tests, having behavior specialists come to your home, and other very costly treatments. We did inquire prior to our visit if they would prescribe anti anxiety medication. Her office staff said that she would, but when we went through with the appointment she would only prescribe if we did other very costly treatments. She even recommended we go to her friend at Petsmart. We have had dogs for thirty years, I feel that she based her opinions on personal beliefs, not what was best for our dog. A vet should be a partner in caring for your dog. Medicating our pet was not our first choice, however after considerable research we decided this was the route we felt suited our situation. A vet sees your dog for 30 minutes max. I feel that they should respect the fact that this is a member of your family and listen ,as well as, work with you to find a solution. This is my opinion on this experience. We will continue looking for a better match for our pet.
We have 4 pets and have tried several different vets and we found this VCA was very informative and compassionate. We took our aging cat to see Dr. Hoyt and Dr. Hoyt was very direct and inasmuch as I did not want to hear the truth, I had to. She read a chart that we had from a different vet (for our aging cat) and it was significantly different than what that other vet told us. Dr. Hoyt did not even try to up sell us on treatments that would prolong our little Harley's life for a few days or weeks )for our cat was suffering). They took good care of our little Harley and we now know he is in heaven. They are a bit pricey, but I would rather pay a bit more for the truth than to pay less for the wrong information and treatment.
Did a great job working me in on short notice. Dr. Chinn was very kind and had a great way of interacting with my pet. Service is a touch pricey but I think you get what you pay for so I have no issue with the price overall. Thanks for doing a great job.
Dr. Chinn is the best! I have so much respect for her as a professional, her bedside manner with my dogs is incredible and she appeals to my needs as as well. The office staff is kind and caring and works hard to get us in on time. The entire office is thorough, helpful and compassionate. I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Chinn.
