We are extremely happy to have our Lab/Grate Dane, Bella, back home with us tonight. Thank you to the staff at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital who helped to save her from a serious case of bloat. I started taking my dogs down to CVVH from Tahoe, back in the '90's. Ive always been happy with the care that my dogs have received there. The staff is professional, supportive and friendly. The Vets and their AHT's/Assistants work as a team and they always leave me feeling reassured that they are giving my dogs quality care. I am a Breeder of Labrador Retrievers. A Breeder friend of mine referred us to Dr. Cameron Ross over 10 years ago when we moved to No. NV. We have received only top notch professional, courteous and concerned care from the staff at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. They have been supportive of us through serious and small issues. I have seen most of the Vets on staff and am continually more than pleased. Dr. Ross is our main Veterinarian, but I wouldn't hesitate to see anyone on staff. I drive 60 miles each direction to see Dr. Ross and I would not consider going to another Veterinarian. I am continually recommending this staff and facility to all of my local clients and anyone in this area looking for a great Veterinarian.

I had been a patron of this veterinarian over 10 years, and during the last few years, they've been bought out by a big corporation in Colorado. Since that has happened, more and more, I've been made to feel that I was just a cash cow. I am not saying they are not knowledgeable vets, but they have suggested procedures for my little dog, who has been very sick over last few years, that were totally unneccessary and potentially traumatic to the poor little thing. I have spoken with several of my friends, who have also went there, and they feel as I do. I have since moved to another vet who is very capable, much closer to home and MUCH more affordable. The price IS NOT the only consideration for me, the care of my beloved little dog is the most important thing, but I do not appreciate feeling like my love for my dog makes me vulnerable to their aggressive pricing and procedure policies. On top of that, I've taken both my dogs in to have their toenails trimmed, and when I got them home, only one had been done--the easier of the two to trim. I was charged for both, and when I complained, they refunded me the cost of both, which was very kind, but still.............

I brought my small dog in for a scheduled sonogram at 7am. I was told not to feed her after midnight. I left her with the tech,who assured me she would have the test after the Dr was out of surgery. At 11:30 I called to check her status and was told the DR was still in Surgery. But was reassured her test was imminent . Well 7 HOURS LATER SHE STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY TEST!!! She was in a kennel for 7 hours without food or water, I find this appalling.Since her testing was for stomach issues and lost of weight!! Obviously the scheduling practice at this office needs some revamping. I would not leave my dog cooped up for hours, would you??

From 1973 to 1984 Dr. Tom Talbot cared for all of my beloved animals. He was amazing as was his staff. When we moved away the two most important things on my mind was finding great healthcare for our children and our pets (our 4 legged kids). Imagine my surprise and delight to find out that his brother Steve Talbot was a veterinarian in the little town we were moving to, Minden, NV. So, for almost 30 years now Dr Steve Talbot, several of the other doctors through the years and their staff have shared in laughter, surprise, tears and hugs. With the exception of very few staff members over the years, who didn't make it very long, we have never been treated with anything but care and respect. Our pets have always received the best care. We thank you all for your kindness over the years as we have had to say goodbye to our longtime family members: Sly after 14 years, Zorro & Mortisha after 19 years, Frosty & Hot Rod at 11 & 14 years. Now you have welcomed our two newest Trevor and Sadie. We look forward to the same great care we have always received for many more years to come. It will be a sad day indeed when Dr Talbot retires, and his many years of wise experience with him.
