Dr. Allen makes our pets feel loved every time we have to take our two family members to get a checkup, shots, and they have our dog relief when we realized she was allergic to certain types of grasses. Love this place and I highly recommend it!
My Fiance' Gina Contessa and I took our Puggle Sorella To see Dr. Sarah Poltis which we just followed her from City Creature Animal Hospital. Dr. Poltis is professional, easy to speak with, educational and most impotantly has a true love for what she does and that shows in how she treated Sorella and us. She took almost two hours with us to treat Sorella and educate us through the process, never leaving a step out, answering with great knowledge and confidence every question we had. Our dog needs follow up care and Dr. Poltis is going to be out of the country and she even set up an appointment for us to come in and just meet with Dr. Alissa Pletscher so that we can get aqainted with her before we have to bring Sorella back. This was above and beyond making us feel comfortable at her new practice. Her staff is wonderful as well. I would like to make a special comment about her Office Manager, Jeffrey Matthews. He is welcoming, warm, pleasent and always had a smile on his face. Thank you to both Dr. Poltis and Jeffrey Matthews for making us feel at home.
I took my kitten to see Dr. Clark with a coupon from the SPCA. I don't know if she felt the "free" initial exam wasn't worth the time, but she barely examined my kitten, who was losing weight and not hungry. I had to see another vet about the same problem days later and found out she had one severely enlarged kidney that was easy to feel and may not survive. Dr. Clark had said she saw nothing wrong and just sent me home with some wet food - missed the problem entirely. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.
I followed Dr. Allen from City Creatures Animal Hospital because I have never met a vet so dedicated to her craft. Currently, Nickel CIty is seeing patients out of K-9 Connection (also a fantastic business) across the street an addition to doing home visits (!) as necessary. Each my experiences with Dr. Allen and her staff have been nothing less then extraordinary. My dogs tend to get into some nasty stuff on their adventures and Dr. Allen responds immediately. I have been allowed to bring my beasts in for last minute, early-morning appointments; emergency drop-ins on our way home from a particularly ferocious encounter with a woodchuck; and a weekend visit for a painful toenail. Dr. Allen came to my house when my cat had to be put to sleep. And, in the most stunning example of human compassion, drove out to the emergency clinic in Amherst at 10pm on a Tuesday night to check my parent's most favorite child as she lay dying. My pets and I are so lucky to have such a vet.
