The staff is generally nice but this place gave me some unnecessary headaches. First, their vet was rude with me because I hadn't clipped my new puppy's toenails yet. I'd never had to clip a dog's nails before so I didn't just charge right in uninformed. He offered to have someone do it for me so I agreed. Despite remaining perfectly still - it was his first time and he didn't know what was happening - they still chopped off too much and made him bleed. So now he's afraid of having his nails cut over a year later. Second, their vet advised me to wait until my dog was at least 9 months old before even considering having him fixed (at which point I suppose he reserved the right to say he wasn't ready yet, going by his wording). I didn't think a vet could be wrong so I accepted this without question - won't be doing that again. I later went to another vet when I moved and she asked if I was going to have him fixed at all. When I explained what I'd been told, she very strongly said this was bad advice and there was no reason for a mixed breed dog to wait that long. She said, in fact, it had made the process more difficult because he was fully grown or near it. I wonder if this was done because it's more expensive to fix a bigger dog and they thought they'd be the ones doing it... They weren't. And finally, when I made the aforementioned move and needed to change vets (my dog gets sick on car rides so minimal driving is always best), this place made me drive 20 minutes one way just to get his records. They refused to fax them directly to my new vet. When we moved again, my second vet didn't hesitate to fax his records and neither did Suburban which was a pleasant surprise. When it didn't appear that the newest vet had gotten them, we called Suburban and they once again said no faxing. Thankfully, the newest vet had indeed gotten the records, they had just misplaced them. So they're also inconsistent but I'm glad this inconsistency resulted in better service than before. I will say that other people there are very nice; they're just not my favorite.

I've taken my two dachshunds here for two years and the staff is wonderful! Dr. Silburg is the best veterinarian I've used. He's honest about outcomes, is kind to pets and their owners, and has been incredibly helpful with every reason I've had to bring in my dogs, from preventative care, to boarding, to injuries. The facility is very clean and the other staff members are very friendly. I would recommend Suburban Animal Hospital to anyone in the Rochester area.

With 2 cats and 3 dogs, and one of our dogs has paralysis and megaesophagus, vet visits are very frequent - almost on a bi-monthly basis! The staff at Suburban and Dr. Hall are above and beyond professional. They are caring pet owners too and understand our concerns with accumulating vet costs. Dr. Hall uses both a medical and holistic approach to diagnostics, care and treatment. In fact, we've done acupuncture treatments to Benny, the paralyzed dog, and saw immediate improvements! Please without hesitation, make an appointment there.

I can not say enough good about Suburban Animal Hospital. The facility is clean. The staff is always kind and attentive to any needs that arise. We have been with Dr. Fisher for 13 years and she has always treated my pets like part of the family. I have never had a complaint. She has seen one of my pets completely through the life cycle, and always talked to / cared for my pet with TLC. They do not try to push unwanted procedures or medications on you. They present information/options to you and are there to help through decision making. If you are looking for a professional, loving, clean, up to date, vet to take your pet to - I highly recommend this place.
