I have been to many hospitals in the Bronx and until I went to avalon animal hospital was any one able to handle my pet as well as the staff of avalon animal hospital. The staff was nice and treated me with all the knowledge i needed to know about how to keep my dog healthy. For any question i had they would answer me precisely and fully and for that i was grateful I'll stay with avalon because they worked efficiently and quickly.

I went to this doctor for the first time with my 7 month old dog. Dr. Perez was very jumpy and nervous while interacting with my 8 pound puppy. He acted as though I had brought in a huge pit bull instead of the mini pincsher I have. Everytime the dog moved he jumped back and even had to muzzle (with some string... not a real muzzle) and enlist the help of his assitant just to examine my puppy. The dog had a rash on his ears and his immediate suggestion to me was that he could cut the dogs ears off right below the rash. I was shocked! I insisted that we should first try to treat it with an antibiotic or something instead of going for such an extreme measure. He insisted that an antibiotic would take a couple of months to clear up the rash and cutting the tips off his ears was a much quicker solution. He said the dog would "look" better with his ears cut. All I have to say is thank goodnes this man does not treat humans! I then had his staff trim my puppies nails which was also a big mistake being as how i had just witnessed them cut too deep on another dog. my puppy had blood on a few spots of his fur from all the cuts he got while they butchered his nails. I would never go back her again and would definitly not recommend anyone take their animal to this place.
