While I would say their prices may be slightly higher than other places: their service is exceptional and without compare. Most vets seem to not really care for your animals. They go out of their way to make sure your animals are still ok weeks later.
So so.. You may have to start working a 2nd or 3rd job if you want to take your animals here. I know everything is expensive these days but it absolutely floors me at how costly this place is. Some of the staff seem to have an attitude & can be pretty rude or short with you. Another thing that annoys me, they kept calling my dog a "he".. Just because she has a blue collar, doesn't make her a "he". It's really not that hard to tell a female from a male & especially since they have all of her records & she has been there more than once. I recently took her there because she was vomiting & not eating. The vet seemed puzzled at her condition & kept repeating " 'he' is very dehydrated", like it was my fault she had been throwing up for 12 hours & couldn't even keep water down? The vet kept questioning me, asking if the dog had got into anything or ate anything she wasn't supposed to. I explained several times that no she hadn't, I had been home with her all afternoon & she isn't the kind of dog to eat a toy or anything random laying around.. Instead of doing bloodwork like most vets would do, they opted for an xray to check for foreign objects or a "blockage" which showed nothing but a big ball of gas in her tummy. I just paid $80 for an xray to show my dog has gas. Wow. Which still had nothing to do with her throwing up. They suggested she stay overnight for fluids & evaluation & after quoting me a bill pushing $500, I said no. I chose the cheaper route ($200) and they gave her a shot of antibiotics & sent her home.. Just be prepared for a pretty hefty bill if you take your pets here..
I have a 10 yr. old dog Cocoa. I found out she was pregnant and was in labor on a Saturday. By Saturday evening she was struggling, had to manually remove a puppy from her that was sticking out feet first. The puppy was stillborn. I called all over just the ER vets in Syracuse were open. I traveled all the way there just for them to tell me she needed an immediate c section and that the puppies were more than likely dead. The cost would be 3000.00. I broke down crying, I did not have that kind of money. They gave Cocoa an antibiotic to prevent infection and water under her skin to hydrate her to keep her safe until Sunday, charged me 150.00 for it and I left. Sunday morning I called ADVC and explained my situation. Dr. Kyle came in, opened up shop and took Cocoa right in. The way she talked to Cocoa and I both put us at ease during this stressful time. She performed the operation and spayed her as well in the process and also gave us a small miracle ..she was able to revive one puppy :) I went back later that day to pick up Cocoa & the puppy and I was amazed at how well Cocoa was getting around. She gave me pain meds, antibiotics and probiotics for Cocoa's aftercare. When I looked at the bill I was shocked..it was only 1000.00 a far cry from 3000.00 the other vet wanted to charge. I take Cocoa in tomorrow to have her staples removed, I am pleased that she's healed quite nicely and her incision looks great. Kyle is an amazing woman and a very compassionate Doctor that truly cares about animals. I highly recommend this place :)
The staff here are the best. They took care of my cat. She was in horrible condition when I brought them to her. They stayed with her all weekend giving me updates on how she was doing. They really care about you and your beloved pet. Thank you guys.
THE STAFF IS EXCELLENT AND I WOULDN'T TAKE MY PETS ANYWHERE ELSE. THEY ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HAVE A KIND GENTLE APPROACH TO OUR CATS AND DOGS.
