DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE... No one in the office knows how to handle animals, most importantly, Dr. Greenburg. He insisted on CLAMPING my cats neck because he did not want to be handled. The cat was panting with his tongue out, something I have never seen him do in the 8 years of owning him. After finally getting the cat to be still, he misdiagnosed the issue with his paw. Also, there was absolutely no preliminary questioning about why I was even there. He just went right in to get the cat out of the carrier and then decided to clamp his neck. I am so disgusted. The inside of the office is really dirty, something that should of turned me away immediately.
3-Dog Owner--Feb. 8, 2012. Dr. Greenberg is a very competent vet and has very reasonable rates. I do not need to spend a fortune for mostly routine care. When I had my male dog neutered about a year and a half ago, all went well. I liked the fact that he did not require the plastic hood. We moved into the area two and a half years ago and after checking out the other vets I went with him. He has limited hours (a couple hours in the morning and afternoon) because he is semi-retired, but since you can "walk in" there I have had no problems getting my dogs in the same day with very little if any wait. I recommend him highly.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. I took my dog here to be neutered, and they required him to stay overnight. When I picked him up, he was covered with dirt, urine, and blood. On the car ride home, I noticed that he was bleeding and something was hanging out of his incision. Upon further inspection, I could not see ANY stitches on my dog. I had to rush him to another vet who had to perform another emergency surgery on him to prevent infection. She informed me that Knollwood had used cheap and antiquated sutures and anesthesia, and that if this procedure had been a spay, my dog would probably have died. Thankfully my dog is ok. I don't believe Knollwood is sanitary or safe. I believe they are negligent and that my dog was mistreated. I hope that by passing on my experience to others, I can prevent other owners and pets from going through such a horrific experience.
Dr. Greenberg is smart, a graduate of Cornell Veterinary School. Although he is old he is in excellent health, he is kind and very good with animals. He is especially conscious about people's inability to pay for these huge bills and manages to charge much less than other vets. He has walk in hours, very bare bones office and manages to see all who come. His assistant is a little abrasive but she has a good heart under it all. I disagree with this other person who I think has exaggerated her story. I would take our dogs to see him and would suggest that others do as well.
