The most AMAZING afterschool program. My daughter took the beginner class in 2nd grade and the advanced in 3rd grade. She was inspired, entertained, and educated by this class. Dr. Dave is a smart, engaging and funny teacher who provides young children an amazing introduction to vet med...but also to science, in general. I highly recommend this class for boys and girls who enjoy hands-on learning, fun experiments, and animals.

Little Vets is an exceptional after-school educational program. Dr. David Bessler is a talented teacher that shares his passion for animals & science. The kids wear lab coats & stethoscopes & like real doctors, they act like veterinarians, using their eyes, ears and hands to solve problems. Interestingly, they are all thoroughly engaged in learning how to diagnose the patient. This class is an amazing educational gift that all children should experience.

Nov. 23, 2010. With a "rounds chart" on my daughter's door, a tiger wearing a surgery mask on her floor, and a dachsund in an isolette in her room, I think it's easy to see how thoroughly Dr. Dave has stimulated both her imagination and her intellect with his lively instruction. Working in a real hospital where real animals are being treated teaches empathy and responsibility; meanwhile, remarkably detailed and accessible medical concepts are covered and then applied in age-appropriate activities. All of the students loved examing the stuffed dogs covered with red stickers representing mites, or squeezing their "voice boxes" to hear about their symptoms. Slides of bacteria and cells of videos of surgery were labelled for their "Grossness Factor" 1-11. Dr. Dave's joy in his work and pride in the hospital was always evident, and he drew in all the adults in the room along with the children. Any child with an interest in science and animals would love this class; there is no more constructive way for a child to spend her afternoon. I can not offer enough superlatives for this unusual, special opportunity.
