It's unfortunate that I have to give this place a 1 star since we've used them so often in the past. My girlfriend and I boarded our 2 dogs here over the Christmas Holiday's. We called often to make sure our dogs were eating their food (which we provided) because both dogs are finicky eaters, especially when nervous or in an unfamiliar environment. Well we were told on each call that yes, your dogs are eating fine and no cause for concern. This couldn't be further from the truth b/c when we returned to pick the dogs up we asked for the remainder of whatever food was left and the attendant promptly retrieved a full grocery bag of prepackaged meals (we made 2 individual bags per day, per dog). The dogs had eaten NONE of it. So basically this place did not use the special food we provided but LIED to us on multiple calls asking about he animals well-being. NEVER using this place again.
Dr. Tucker is the most honest and trustworthy vet I've ever encountered. All of my extended family and myself have taken our pets to her for over a decade, and I trust her completely. She stays up to date on everything and always explains all treatment options fairly and without bias. Her rates are very reasonable, and she never overcharges for anything. Her staff are very knowledgable and friendly, and they've helped my dogs out of many emergencies. I moved to Canton last year, and I still drive 30 minutes because she's the best vet around. I recommend her extremely highly.
If I could rate this place ZERO stars, I would! This place was awful. No lawn area for your dog to relieve themselves upon arrival. Most vets have some lawn or designated area to walk your dog prior to entering the clinic. Not here! I moved to Alliance from out of state and was trying to set my dog up with a new vet. I called a couple of weeks in advance of when I needed the appointment for shots, otherwise, my dog is very healthy. My dog had just had her annual physical, she really did not need any care other than another kennel cough shot and to have a new vet in our new home here in Alliance. The lady who answered the phone told me they were not taking any new clients, then, proceeded to set me up for an appointment. I thought that was a bit odd, but, since my dog needed a bortadella shot, I went along with it. Either she lied or I sounded in need, or both. She took all our contact information from me over the phone and asked me to stop in before my scheduled appointment to pick up new client paperwork. I stopped in on the Monday before my scheduled Friday appointment and out of 5 people working at the front desk area, not one could accommodate me. My dog was trying to play with another dog in the waiting area and the waiting area is way too small to keep animals adequately separated. I have had two other vets in two other states, and this was hands down the smallest waiting area I have ever seen with too many people waiting & not getting serviced in a timely manner. The staff could not find any record of my appointment, could not find my appointment in their computer, and then actually had the gall to question me as to whether I was in the right place or not. Finally, one woman, the one I probably talked to originally by telephone surfaced, and she seemed to be the only one who could find a record of my upcoming appointment. NOT GOOD. When I talked to her on the phone, she said I could pop in to pick up this paperwork and pop right back out to fill it out at home and bring it with me to my appointment. This certainly was not the case. This place was clearly unable to handle more than one client at a time, even with 5-6 people working the front desk. It seems like there are too many cooks in the kitchen here. I told them I was really put off by their unwelcoming attitude for a new client and I would go elsewhere. I immediately went over to West Side Animal Hospital on Sawburg Rd.and my dog and I were warmly welcomed and I got an appointment for Friday, the same day as I would have had my appointment at Alliance Animal Hospital. There was much more room for my dog to greet staff at West Side Animal Hospital and she got petted immediately by 4 staff members working in the area and because she was warmly greeted, paid no attention whatsoever to a cat roaming around the office. I believe in karma and the karma was awful at Alliance Animal Hospital on State Street and the karma was wonderful at West Side Animal Hospital on Sawburg Rd. If you are trying to find a new veterinarian for a new pet, do not try Alliance Animal Hospital. They are CLEARLY in over their heads and over capacity for their facility AND their staff and their business processes. As it turns out, the lady I talked to when I first called Alliance Animal Hospital was correct, they are totally unable to accommodate new clients. Parking is more convenient and more ample at West Side Animal Hospital and there are grassy areas to walk your doggy before your appointment.
Dr. Tucker takes time to answer your questions and gives her honest opinion when it comes to treatment options. The prices are really fair with an office visit around $30 or $35.
