I brought a stray who was in pretty bad shape here around 10 pm.The dog needed to be put down because of a spine injury. They never checked or offered to check for a microchip. They went from kind and compassionate to hateful and disgusted when I couldn't afford to pay more than half the bill up front- this was never mentioned to me until after the dog had an xray. My wife and I were actually waiting in an exam room to be with him while he was euthanized. They said we could no longer be with him during the euthanasia and would have to transport the body home ourselves. They brought this dead dog loosely wrapped in a sheet out to our car. My wife asked for a box because he'd have to go in the backseat and they said they didn't have a single cardboard box in the establishment. I asked them what they thought we should have done- leave him to die slowly on the side of the road or bring him to the ER and attempt to work out a payment plan? They didn't care. I've never experienced a vet that doesn't offer payment options, or at least a little courtesy during such an emotionally trying time. Don't EVER come here, please make the drive to Akron, regardless of where you are from. The staff was hateful, a traumatizing situation was made more traumatizing, and they clearly only cared about money. Imagine if this happened to your beloved pet rather than a stray that you felt an obligation to help- you'd be in pieces. This place not only doesn't deserve your money, they will likely kill your pet through malpractice or unconcern. If they don't do that, they will make sure that you know what a terrible individual you are for not having the entire bill paid upfront.
First if there were a lower score than Poor-Fair I would give the lowest score possible. We took our dog there when she hurt her leg trying to go after a neighbors dog in our yard, she had one of those plastic coated run cords wrapped around her hind leg and went to run and it pushed through her skin and meat on her leg. This was right after Christmas and money was low for us at the time. They wanted $800 up front after saying we might as well put her down (and even after their aweful treatment she is still with us). After a long wait for the money to be gathered and posted, and our dog losing alot of blood during the wait...the vet on call must have got to use a staple gun for the first time. As our regular vet would confirm, there was at least twice as many staples as needed and some of the staples were actually in the wound instead of holding the skin together. Our dog went through so much unnecessary pain and suffering during the wait for the outrageous fees as well as the treatment provided. If we would have allowed it they would have put her down when she simply needed treatment (obviously). We would not take a snail to be treated here.
This so called "vet hospital" does not have any interest in nursing sickly animals back to health. Their main concern is MONEY. I took my cat here when its tail got run over, and it was after hours for my local vet. They told me my cat would be fine, but they NEEDED to do a surgery to keep him from living. The next morning they called and said surgery went fine. 2 hours later they called and my pet had passed away. I later called my vet to go over what had happened and she informed me the surgery was in no way needed immediately. All they wanted was my money and they KILLED my beloved pet. I would strongly recommend against taking your pet here if you care about them even in the smallest capacity. Take the extra voyage to Akron! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! The "Vets" should be ashamed that they work for such a shameful business.
My puppy died because they were waiting for me to pay. I gave them instructions on what procedures I wanted to do and I had a phone call right after. The Vet (doesn't deserve the title) came flying through the doors saying they needed me up front...the whole time I thought they were caring for my pup...they were waiting. The for my payment! I had to wait until midnight to pay for my direct deposit and they never administered anything. Once the receptionist knew I had to wait to pay, she ran to the back to tell the vet. My pup died @ 11 p.m. and I still had to sit there and wait to pay for the office visit. Im furious and appauled...do not go here even with an emergency. These people aren't there to care for your animal, they are there to take advantage of your circumstance. My pup could've lived had he started the procedures when I gave the go ahead. Ruthless and greedy.
