I never heard of Grady until my daughters dog fell gravely ill. We needed an "after hours" vet that would see the dog ASAP. Unfortunately the dog passed as soon as we got into the room with the doctor. The compassion and caring of Grady was outstanding. They were very careful in how they dealt with my upset daughter. This will be the family vet for our other dogs from now on. Thank You!

Last night I was noticing some very bad health issues with my 15 year old peka-poo, Libby. I called and asked the lady a few questions and she already had a bad attitude over the phone. This was the only animal hospital open 24 hours, so I had no other choice but to take her there. We arrive and my dog is limp in my arms, wrapped up in a blanket. All the nurse was worried about was finding her previous records until I made the comment "excuse me my dog is very sick, can't you find the paperwork after you take a look at her". Mind you, their were no other patients being seen at this time, just us in the building. She says "oh yes" and then proceeds to take us into a side room. She takes a quick look at her, then just takes her into the back, not letting me know anything. As she was again looking for the paperwork, the vet was supposedly looking at my baby, Libby. I then started hearing loud laughing and joking comments from the room my dog had been taken to. This really made me upset and gave me the impression they weren't attending to my dog, but joking and just going through the motions. Finally, after 40 minutes of waiting, the vet which was very young and seemed very uneducated comes in and tells me some little things she noticed and told me in order to look at her further they would have to do a 126 dollar x-ray. I made a phone call quickly to my sister/vet tech for further advice and before I knew it my dog ended up dying there. They still charged me full price after wasting critical time looking for some stupid documents while my dog was getting sicker and sicker. DO NOT GO HERE if you want someone who truly cares for your pets. They care way too much about their day to day lives unless your willing to pay thousands for every test under the sun. They're very inconsiderate people!!!!!!!!!!

after 6 years of dealing with these people, mostly because they are close and not recklessly incompetent. today is the last time we take an animal anywhere near them. before I tell that story, know on any given appointment you will wait 30-45 minutes past your appointment time to see a vet and then you will be charged more than almost any other place in city... but as I mentioned, they are close to where we live and are open 24hr so they are who we used until today. we have two bassets that we have had been taking to grady's since 07 and a third that we rescued last year. the rescue and the other male got into a fight and my 7 year old was injured fairly severely on his leg. I called grady, informed them of the situation and was told sundays are first come first serve, so I packed him in the car and took him in. they were actually able to see us fairly quickly and after the exam I was told that my dogs leg was going to need stitches. they took my dog into the back and moments later came back to me with a bill for $400. I knew it was going to be a lot so no big surprise, but as i'm getting my self collected in the room the tech starts making jokes in an effort to ease the sting of the bill. (not in the mood for jokes.) "bad day, huh?" " at least tomorrow is Monday so you can go back to work" stuff like that, each one grating my nerves a bit more. now we're at the desk, she still has jokes telling the other techs more of the "bad day for him" stuff. about the 6 or 7th remark i'm definitely getting aggravated, grunting replies to acknowledging the jokes she's making, but I just want to leave at this point. I head for the door and they remind me I need to sign the credit slip so I head back to the desk. another joke...this time I say I don't want to talk about it anymore, sign my slip and head for the door, i'm definitely getting mad at this point. another tech calls to me for my receipt and I tell her over my shoulder i'll pick it up when I come back for the dog and I leave. they now have my dog and my money paid in full. about an hour later I get a call that I missed and called right back, some woman that did not tell me her name but I believe it's one the vets. older woman with an accent... she tells me they were concerned about how I left, i'm thinking whatever, how is my dog. about a minute into conversation she's still talking about me and now I realize she is complaining about my behavior in their lobby. she starts telling me how I cussed at their employees and that they won't treat my dog unless I promise to behave when i'm in their office. now i'm losing my mind mad. comes out they took my dog and my money and though they told me he would be ready to pick up in about 45 minutes, an hour in they have not even begun to work on him. me and the woman on the phone have words at this point, most of mine pretty loud. i'm furious... ((to whomever I spoke with on the phone. your time would be better spent teaching your employees what is appropriate behavior rather than trying to teach your customers.) needless to say I went to get my dog and my money and will never take any animal to them again. i'm still not sure how you can keep my dog injured in their facility without treating him after taking 400 dollars from me to do so. and of course the time wasted meant that the dog would have to stay over night at another hospital which I didn't want to do. so the dog goes to the new vet tomorrow and I strongly recommend you find somewhere else to take your animals. best case scenario is you get over charged after waiting far too long...

When I first came here, I was relieved due to it being a 24 hour service. Do not let that fool you, because it is expensive and terrible service. Other reviews that discuss the cons to this place speak the truth. Grady will be my last choice to go to from here on out.

I went to Grady's Vet hospital because I had a late night emergency with my sick ferret Coco. She was puking and became suddenly lethargic. I was seen by Dr. Brownfield who examined her and suggested we treat her with a shot to get fluids in her and gave her a shot for the naseau. She suggested if things did not change to bring her in and do x-rays. The next day Coco looked pitiful. I brought her into my work and after a few hours I returned to the hospital. I was seen by Dr. Mohlman. She took x-rays and found inflamed areas, but not enough evidence to see if their was any blockage. Coco spent the night and the next morning I called. Dr Brownfield informed me that the Coco's situation wasn't any better. She suggested that there was enough evidence now that Coco had swallowed something. Dr. Quilles did the surgery the next afternoon. Dr. Quiles removed three pieces of rubber from her stomach. She informed me the surgery went well and the next day I was able to pick up my baby. The staff and doctors were professional and very caring. I want to thank them so much for helping Coco feel so much better. I want to say that this place is the place to go if your animal is sick. I cant say enough good things about Gradys. Myself and Coco thank you!
