It always seemed like the vet here was spread too thin, but now I know it's true because even though our baby spent days under observation here, no one - including the vet who was supposedly observing him - realized he was dying until it was too late. The next day when we came to pick up this things, the passive aggressive receptionist said, "have a nice day." Seriously. Something is very wrong with that one. I could go on - the vet's husband is this slimy looking guy who's always hovering around in the background like someone who's likely to hit on you when his wife isn't looking, and the hours are lousy (only open when you're at work, basically). Now I drive to someplace more professional with better hours and no crazy/rude receptionist.

I am convinced there is no better vet than Dr. McCarty. She is incredibly knowledgeable and shares it with her patients owners. She really listens to your concerns and addresses them. She clearly adores your pets which is a number one concern for me. Her entire team is equally wonderful and supportive. I really cannot say enough in support of Howell Ave. Pet Hospital. I currently own one pure bred dog and five cats, only three of the five cats go outside. She treats the cats accordingly. I am about to rescue a mixed breed dog and needed advice on integrated an older dog with cats. Again the staff was supportive and helpful. I'm older so in my lifetime I've had seven other veterinary experiences. I didn't leave them because I didn't like them. It was mostly circumstantial. I followed Dr. McCarty from a previous vet hospital. I mention the other vets only to confirm I've had plenty of other relatively long term vet experiences. Howell Ave Pet Hospital is the absolute best!

My wife and I have brought several pets (cats and dog) with various ailments to Dr. McCarty at Howell Ave Pet Hospital and consistently felt our pets were given superior care and we received compassionate and considerate advice. We move with some frequency so have experienced a lot of veterinary offices and Dr McCarty and her staff are a group we are happy to recommend.

The staff here are WONDERFUL! They all were nothing but patient with me, being a new pet owner, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. I would recommend them to anyone.
