Excellent hospital . The Doctors and staff are very caring and compassionate. The building is older but very clean inside. The care they provide to my pets is incredible. The doctors and staff follow up quickly and are always there to answer questions. They are not affraid to refer me to a specialist if needed. Not the cheapest vet in town but I believe that you get what you pay for. I do not price shop for my own healthcare and will not for my pets. They are part of the family. I truly believe that Mayfield Pet Hospital CARES!!!

Screwed up the appointment, didn't have enough staff on hand. Then got a timid vet, wouldn't take care of a big dog because fearful even with muzzle on, and even had to muzzle a 15lb dog because of fear. After suggesting to re-schedule and give the large dog prozac then called to cancel appointment and rejected to service the large dog at all. Upon calling give owner more info about the details of the visit, commented on my husbands conceal to carry - completely off the subject. If you have an issue with that, place a sign on the door, as legally required by every establishment. Needless to say, glad we're finding another vet...if you can't treat veterans with respect, you don't deserve my business.

I have taken my pets (dogs, cats and birds ) to Mayfield Pet Hospital for over 20 years and am very pleased with them. Dr. James Ringer and his wonderful staff of vets and technicians all show great care for all animals and are very knowledgeable about their field of medicine. If it is something very complex they are caring enough to arrange for specialists . I recommend their entire staff very highly. Sanford Gross

Very good vet/animal hospital -- I've only been once, but I would recommend them. Professional doctors and staff. Very friendly and they genuinely seem interested in the wellbeing of my cat and my own background in pets. One thing I should mention is that I came in one day with my cat, only to have them tell me that I needed an appointment, which I didn't know because it had never been indicated to me. Consider this an indication to future customers that walk-ins are not welcome and that you'll need an appointment if you want to be seen.
