My family has been going there for years simply because it's the vet in the neighborhood. When I got my first animals I went there. I found the staff to be suprisingly rude. I ignored it and continued to take my animals there. I had my latest cat spayed and declawed. It was a horrible experience. Not only was the staff still incredibly rude but the Vet failed to give me any "care instructions" following the procedures. They didn't even bother to tell me that I needed to make a follow up appointment to get the stiches out! A month later my cat is still having problems with her paw and I am taking her to a different vet. They are definatly not the vets office i remember growing up with.
I took my dog in for an initial visit & the vet asked me what I wanted looked at. The Vet's attitude seemed halfhearted. I had to ask to have his ears checked, teeth checked, paw looked at ( which I did not agree with what the Vet told me), etc. I expected an overall inspection without me telling the Vet what to do. No information was volunteered, I had to ask questions about everything. Also, one of the office staff said if I missed 1 month of Heartworm med I should have my dog tested for that. The other office staff said it depends on which Vet I get if they will do it . This place may be cheap but, I will gladly pay a higher price to get a GOOD confident Vet.
Pricing is much better here than anywhere nearby, waits are minimal and next door is Kregers if you don't want to wait there while your animal has an operation performed. Personally, I've not had any run ins with rude staff, and they have been friendly/helpful to my wife, my dog Logan and me. Reasons we've been: Dog needed his intestinal track explored by hand to cut out lots of small leather pieces. Dog was attacked by another dog. Removal of ticks A couple check-ups keeping up to date on shots.
I agree with the staff being extremely rude. I took my dog there to be fixed and when I took him in I stood there for about 15 minutes waiting for the lady at the desk to acknowledge me. Once she did she never even apologized for flat out ignoring me. Also, when I went back the next day to pick up my dog there was a different lady at the desk and she did the same thing. When I went in to see the vet I had to ask him if there was anything else I needed to do as far as "care instructions". If I wouldnt have asked he would have never told me. Yes, their prices are low but I do not think they give quality care to the animals brought in.
