These people were very kind and professional during a life and death situation with my Shi-Tzu. I wasn't a customer and came in at 8am during the crisis. She is recovering now and I highly recommend them. As far as the pricing, it seems on par for the going rates. Pet care is expensive, no two ways around it. Just like any medical emergency debt will be incurred.
We have had 2 cats and 3 dogs that have been patients of Dr. Huff and Dr. Kelleher over the past 17 years. They are the best! Everyone at Healthy Pets of Rome-Hilliard are kind, compassionate, and persistent when it comes to solving stubborn issues with our pets. I woldn't take my pets anywhere else.
You would have to be a millionaire to go to this place. Very over-priced compared to other vets in the area. They use scare tactics to try to get you to pay for unnecessary and or excessive testing. You might say they are test happy. If the dog or cat farts they are only too eager to be the bearer of bad tidings - just to make sure there isn't anything wrong let's do a thousand dollars of tests. Please for days, Once the vet farted when I was there. I certainly didn't see him picking up the phone, calling his Dr. and making an appointment for lab work - just to make sure his head wasn't stuck up his a$$ & that's what was causing all the egg farts.
Where do I begin. When we used this vet they were fine, but we always feel like they were trying to "sell" us more procedures for our animals regardless if they really needed it or not. We always walked out of there feeling like they got the most out of us and by that I mean the most money. Then we recently had to put our dog down (not there because they were just awful about the whole process) and since then we have received not one, not two, but three postcards asking us to come in for shots for our beloved and missed Morgan. This is despite the fact that we called them each time and went and visited them to get all of Morgan's records. Really? Are you kidding me? Trend lightly.
My cat who was sick for a few days, became deathly ill and it was time to euthanize her. When calling a few vets in Central Ohio, Healthy Pets of Rome Hilliard offered to euthanize her. However, there were two fees ... a fee of $140 if I did not want to be with my cat during the euthanasia and $165 if I wanted to be with my cat. Are you kidding me? They wanted to charge me extra to be with my cat during her last moments? Talk about taking advantage of a fragile state of mine. I called OSU Vet hospital and they were able to euthanize my cat for $60 AND I was able to hold her during that moment. SHAME ON HEALTHY PETS. Makes you wonder how they euthanize pets if they discourage you from witnessing the procedure by up charging. Take your business to OSU.
