I had 2 Himalayans die under their care. The 2nd one was recent my precious Teddy. He went in, was there for I week, came home, went back a few days later. He weighed 15 lbs. I don't know what happened but when he came home he weighed 4lbs. He was never the same and was 5 yrs. old. 3000.00. WOW-------He got worse within a few days, so I took him to a different VET and they said he had CANCER! What I was never told nothing but a run -around. Laid him to rest, now in Heaven and no pain or suffering. PLEASE BEWARE!

The Stow – Kent Animal Hospital has so many problems with it that our family refers to it as a ‘pet chop shop’. First – They over book patients. We have been going there since 1984 and have seen these changes develop over each decade. Our appointments use to be met on time or maybe 10 – 15 minutes late. Now a patient can expect to wait 1 – 2 hours pass their regular scheduled time. Second – A vet made a comment to his assistant, ‘Make sure they pay the bill before we proceed’, right in front of us. You see, we had to bring in our 1 year old German Shepherd dog and have him euthanized due to an inoperable brain tumor. He had so many seizures during a single day that his medications were not working and they were becoming more violent with each passing day. Thirdly – I also had a cat declawed (which I will never do that again), anyhow, I was able to go downstairs to see her after surgery. While I was in their basement visiting my cat, there was one of the staff members hosing out the cages that house the dogs. They didn’t even remove the dogs out of the cages being hosed down. That’s right – you read it correctly – they were spray cleaning the cages with the dogs inside. And if that isn’t enough – the final icing on the cake is that the front desk is rude and downright disrespectful to their clientele. It just isn’t worth it nor worth giving them any chance to make things right. Stow – Kent Animal hospital use to be a place that I would recommend to anyone looking for a place to take their pet, but not anymore. I always steer people away from the ‘pet chop shop’. Money is all that matters, to them.

Decided to give them a try based on a referral. What a mistake. Insanely noisy lobby. The staff had to input my information twice because they kept deleting it and finally after 45 minutes past my appointment time it was time to leave. If they can't manage their practice better than this I would be highly concerned about the quality of car our animals might get

Our vet of past 20 years just retired, Doctor Miedema, he was great and so was his staff, you truly knew their love of animals as well as the caring they displayed effortlessly of yours. Our calls/records were automatically forwarded to Animal Medical Center Of Streetsboro, I am guessing because when I dialed Doctor Miedema's office they answered. Got the impression when scheduling the appt that they were too busy to even listen to the problem, probably because the office recpt spoke over me with the available appt times for today, rather using her active listening and responding skills that we all have naturally to show we care. Fortunately when they called me yesterday stating the vet had an out of state emergency, they referred me to Stow Kent Animal Hospital for care, they squeezed me in this morning at 10:15 am. I signed a release of records paper for them to retrieve records of my pet dog Missy. I have been in Sales/Marketing/Customer Service for the past 32 years now, still blows my mind how many businesses put unreceptive staff members on their phone lines, as the face of their company, obviously unaware that 1st impressions are everything to the new patient.....here at Stow Kent Animal Hospital (today - first visit) they were kind and concerned and making both me and my dog feel at home - great docs hire great staff and keep them happy so they stay and continue to make their business a success year after year !!!! You cannot fake that, just a feeling you get when you walk into the door in a good running establishment - like a well tuned instrument - versus a bad train wreck.....

My mom has been going to Stow Kent Animal hospital for many years. I found out yesterday my cat was blocked and called and called multiple vets asking for prices and if they offer payment plans since my husband is in school and I am currently unemployed and got very nasty responses from all of them because i asked about a payment plan except for Stow Kent. My mom and I took my cat in there yesterday and the staff was and has always been nice and very informative and willing to work with people on payments. I was told that I would get a call at 8 pm regarding my cat and not even 2 hours after we had left the vet the doctor had called me and explained what was wrong and how he was doing over the phone and stayed on with me for all of my questions and answered every single one. Hopefully getting a call later today saying I can come and pick him up. love Stow Kent Animal Hospital, will come back again definitely and I should have listened to my mom lol
