We adopted a puppy from AHOP's-affiliated dog rescue, One Mission Dog Rescue, about 7 months ago. We have been taking our puppy to Dr Eaton for routine puppy care since day 1. Dr Eaton and her staff are wonderful! We have truly enjoyed getting to know the great team at AHOP and have a high regard for Dr Eaton's expertise and recommendations. We also take our puppy to daycare at AHOP twice per week - she is excited when drop her off and is worn out when we pick her up. It is so nice to know she is well taken care of and we even get "report cards" on what she did throughout the day!
We started bringing Pippy to the Animal Hospital of Polaris in 10/2012 shortly after we rescued her from the Capital Area Humane Society. It was great to have a location so close to our home with flexible hours. We also use AHOP for grooming and love the consistency of the grooming staff so our dog doesn't have to get used to a new employee each time she is groomed. Fast forward to March 2014 when we rescued another dog, Chewbacca, who we found through AHOP. Both of our dogs are cared for by AHOP (vet care and grooming). We have had some high vet bills, but veterinary care isn't cheap any place you go and we happen to have some high-maintenance dogs. The staff has always been up front with us about what procedures are needed, which are recommended and what the costs for those procedures are. I have done comparisons with other local vets and AHOP is in line with the going rates from what I could see. I trust Dr. Eaton and staff to care for our beloved furry family members.
My brother is a vet in another state so I consult with him about my animal care but Dr. Eaton has kindly allowed me to have her as my local vet working with my brother. They both went to OSU so that helps! It is nice to have both.
We were very impressed with the compassion shown when we had to have our 14 year old Mickey put to rest. The entire staff shared in making this difficult decision as kind as possible. We were equally impressed two months later with the quality of the service provided when they did the initial physical and shots for our newest member of the family, Duke.
I use a small town vet whom I love, but the Animal Hospital of Polaris has been very helpful during a few times where I could not get into my regular vet (weekends and late hours). It is nice to know there is a place nearby where I live where I can call last minute during an emergency and they will gladly help out by seeing your pet. The Staff and Dr. are always friendly and helpful.
