Let me start by saying mistakes happen, I understand that, but because of this vets mistake I will not be taking any of my other animals there. I took my under one year old puppy in because he was vomiting, lethargic and not eating. The vet gave him a shot and sent me home with some pills to give him for nausea the next day. That night his condition worsened and I called the vet to tell them I was very concerned because his breathing was slowing and he was unresponsive. I was told to go ahead and give him one pill and call them back tomorrow! I gave him a pill and waited another hour, with no change. I tried to call them again but of course they were closed. Our dog ended up dying on the way to the emergency vet despite my attempts to resuscitate him with CPR. It turns out that our dog had eaten a toy thrown over our fence and it was lodged in his intestine, his vomiting had caused an arterial tear and subsequent internal hemorrhaging. I feel that as a vet with his years of experience, he could have recommended an x-ray and more closely listened to me when I was trying to tell them that something was seriously wrong with my dog. I'm not writing this out of anger because the vet and his staff were very compassionate about our loss after we told them but I do feel that this loss could have been prevented if a more thorough examination had been done along with some critical thinking. Some of the blame however does rest with me for listening to what the vet told me verses following my gut.
Very caring staff for our aging pet. They always took care to not stress her out when we were in. At the end Dr. Abrahms came in on a sunday to ease her pain and was just as sad to say goodbye as I was. These are good people that love animals.
My family has been going to Loveland Animal Hospital since it opened. I personally have moved several times though and have gone to other vets due to necessity and have never had the same experience Although the decor of the vet is very outdated, the service and price make it well worth it!
Been going for 20+ years and love the service.
