It is ridiculous how significantly expensive this place is. It is because they are a monopoly, they don't really have much competition around them. They don't participate with 1800-petmeds because they simply don't want to lose out on the money. When I called to get an estimate for the cost of getting my two dogs' nails clipped, I was quoted at $30 per dog, then they always have this $15 added cost on to each of my bills called an "office call charge". Sure just take a little more out of my pocket. I now will take my dogs to Four Paws Resort to get their nails clipped because they provide excellent customer service there, and they're more personable, and it is $12 per dog at Four Paws :). Also, I have been wanting to get my male neutered for a while but I have been having trouble saving up 450-500 dollars for that procedure. We live in tough times these days, some of us normal folk do not have the finances for this outrageous prices. I knew before I got my two dogs that they were going to be costly to maintain their health, and I want nothing but the best for them. I pay a little extra than normal on their daily food because I want it to be healthy for them in the long run. It is really hard to help maintain their health when I know their vet bills are going to be higher than my own personal medical bills. Also, sometimes I get the sense that the vet is trying to rush me. Last year I had issues with my dogs having flees, and the Veterinarian, Dr. Ball, seemed semi-concerned and was basically telling me that there was nothing I could do. I was concerned because my dog's case of the fleas was getting bad and the medicine I was paying big bucks for wasn't doing her justice, and to just have a vet tell me that was all I could do was kind of disappointing. She seemed to pretend like she cared but I didn't feel like she truly wanted to help me solve the issue, she had more important things to do that day. Dr. LeVan on the other hand, was genuinely nice, happy to answer any of my questions or concerns, went over other options with me, didn't make me feel so rushed. Another complaint I have is sometimes you don't know what you're going to get from customer service. I know my parents have an old lab who is old and has health issues. My father took him to the vet one day for, as he called it, "A routine tune-up". He was there waiting to see a doctor for about an hour, then the visit turned into 2 hours. He said they didn't seem that busy. And they just sent our lab home saying he's fine after a costly bill, when he does have health issues that have not really been fully addressed to my parents. I have to say though, Cassie Canode, the vet tech, is amazing. She genuinely cares and is so nice to not only my dogs, but me as well. She is very knowledgeable too, happy to answer any questions, and acts very professional. She is probably the best employee there! Overall, on the clinical side of things at this business, I feel they do a good job. My one female got spayed there, her surgery was a success, and she healed quickly. Although it was about $470, at least they did take care of her while she was there. I just feel as though the pricing for their procedures and services are absolutely ridiculous. No payment plans offered. I feel like the services for spaying and neutering should be dropped significantly because it is so important that most pets, unless you are a breeder, be spayed or neutered to help lower the issue of so many abandoned, abused, or stray pets living in the over populated humane society. How do you encourage the community you have your business in the importance of this procedure when you charge double the price as other veterinary hospitals do?

They insisted on vaccinating one dog we took in for surgery. (1) Vaccinating a sick dog is against the manufacturers label. (2) the AAHA says vaccines are good for at least 5 to 7 years...so why the annaul vaccines demand? They WAY misdiagnosed as dog's cancer and treated her for some rare condition no dogs get and the dog died a miserable death that could have been avoided.

My dog was having a number of issues and my previous vet could not figure out what was going on. A friend recommended Woodside vet hospital, so I thought I would give it a try. The staff and doctors were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to figure out what was going on with my dog, and the price was very reasonable. One of the staff members even called to check up on my dog to see how he was doing a few days after our appointment. They treated me and my pet like we were family and from now Woodside will be the only vet to take care of my dogs!

I'm not usually a person who posts reviews but I feel that I should in this case. When I read these reviews, I cannot figure out for the life of me why the ones complaining do not take their complaints to the business rather than the internet. I've had nothing but good experiences at this hospital and it is upsetting to me that the people complaining choose to handle their complaints this way. I can tell you that I've been going to this hospital for over 5 years now and I've never had an issue with the staff or the doctors. Their service is excellent and the doctors really care about my pets. And, their prices are in line with other hospitals in this town. I know because I've been to them before going to Woodside. Try getting any other vet in town to call you back after hours if you have an emergency with your pet. I can tell you from experience that the Doctors at Woodside will.

We thought our dog had eaten something so we took her to Woodside to get checked out. 2 xrays and less than 24 hours later we bring her home. No surgery or anything and a $500 bill. Needless to say next time I'll be calling around. This place seems excessive. I could be wrong, but the prices seem way out of line.
