This used to be a great vet. They've gotten too big to care about any one animal/patient. I went there for over 30 years. Recently had two bad experiences with one of their vets. I emailed the practice (through their "contact us" link on their website) to let them know about my experience. I thought they should know as I felt their vet was negligent in both of these situations. I never even received a reply to my email. So I decided to pull my business. When I called and asked to have my records transferred to my new vet they never even bothered to ask why. It's a shame. They used to at least seem to care.

We wanted to thank the tender compassionate care givers at ACN for their gentle care of our Sasha girl yesterday when she succumbed to her cancer. She was diagnosed with splenic hemangiosarcoma in June 2014. Dr. Reidle helped us immeasurably over these last 5 months, providing Sasha with the necessary prescriptions to make each of these days happy, quality days. Doctors Pentacost and Reidle have been my girl's vets for 7 years now and it seems fitting that both were with us yesterday to ease her last moments. Thanks also to the gentle nurses and technicians who provided care and fluffy blankets and love to all of us in her toughest hour of this bout with cancer. It is heartwarming to know that when she passed in our arms, I'm convinced she knew she was surrounded by her loving humans and the phenomenal doctors, technical and admin staff of Animal Clinic Northview. We cannot thank you enough, Dr. Reidle, for your kindness, care and support of our Sasha Girl. We will back again with our Buddy Boy for all his wellness care for we hope, many years to come. I never have to wait, staff are always smiling, the office and parking are pristine and I always feel my dogs are in the best, most capable hands. Their standards are high and it shows. I strongly feel this clinic is the best of the best, likely of the whole world and their prices reflect that. Due to their extremely high prices, I only use them for my reproductive issues, however. I keep a savings account just for them. My only complaint is that they will charge their huge fees and not say a word. But all it takes is the one question of what will be the total and final cost for the procedure to find out beforehand. If cost is an issue, you definately need to go elsewhere. I go to 5 different vets for different purposes..If I run into a real, serious problem, I turn to Animal Clinic Northview. Bottom line is: if getting the absolute best care possible or to investigate/solve a serious problem for your pet, THIS clinic is it. I recommend them highly.

We brought our cat here because he had swallowed a 2 ft piece of string about half way. The cat was not in immediate distress. He was taken in the back and "scoped" to aid in the removal of the string. On the third try they were successful in getting it out. They gave us some medicine and handed us a bill for $1,600.72. At no point were we ever advised of the potential cost of this procedure or consulted as to whether or not to go ahead with the removal, given the huge cost of doing so. They claim they only advise if surgery is indicated. This was as much or more than many of those surgeries. So why weren't we advised? They made us out to be the ones in error because we didn't bring up cost prior to them taking the cat away. Common sense would indicate we're talking maybe a couple hundred dollars, not $1,600!! The bottom line is, we never were given the choice to decide if this procedure was appropriate, they decided for us and also how much we were going to spend that day! Being an older stray we adopted, in no way would we have agreed to this if we were given an estimate before hand. We spoke with the clinic in an effort to come to some sort of understanding or compromise. We were told this is our price for what we did. The charge remains, and would not discuss it further. This is totally unacceptable. There actions were immoral and unethical. They wouldn't accept any responsibility at all in this matter! Ruthless! Stay away!!!

We have taken several of our pets to Animal Northview. The staff is nice and the vets are knowledgeable, but this place really is a money grab. We were paying over $100 for a normal office visit during regular hours if our cat had any issue. Well I thought that was the normal price. Then when our cat got advanced kidney disease and needed to be put down I called. They wanted over $300 to put the cat down and then I had to dispose of the body. What am I supposed to do with the body? Anyways we ended up going to Oberlin Animal Hospital on Route 20. The people are just as good, they take just as good care of your pet, and the cost to put our cat down and disposal of the body was $60. I would not recommend surgery at Oberlin animal hospital though, but for regular care and checkups they are great.
