I am a veterinary technician in Iowa at a cat-only clinic. One of our very good clients moved to the Cleveland area recently and had a medical issue come up with one of his cats before he had time to find a veterinarian. We called this office to have some medications refilled to help get them by for the time being. I was shocked and offended by the two phone conversations I had with Dr. Schoenberg! Here in the mid-west veterinarians work together to help patients. This was not the attitude I encountered. I had a similar experience as the other reviewers - I was spoke to with such an extremely condescending tone I was in shock! Dr. Schoenberg then called back to clear up some "confusions" she had with the records - it seemed more like she called back to insult our treatment plan for a patient she hadn't even seen! She continued to insult and patronize the doctor I work for after I passed the call on as I could no longer stand to be on the phone! If this is the manner in which she treats fellow colleagues and clinic staff I'd hate to see how she treats the general public!

Dr. Schoenberg was the vet for our three cats when we first moved to Cleveland in 1997. From the beginning we got the impression they were there for profit and themselves not us or our cats. Another reviewer here mentioned being spoke at (not to) and that sums up their interaction with humans. Her treatment of animals ranged from rough (routine handling) to outright inhumane (stapling a surgical wound closed without any anesthesia right before my eyes!). In that last case she removed a mammary cancer from our sweet, docile 8lb siamese but the cat licked open the wound. Maybe Dr. Schoenberg was annoyed with me but took it out on the cat? Other people swear by her but if you ask around you will also find a lot of experiences similar to ours. We then went to Blue Cross Animal Hospital on Taylor and stayed there very happily.

Just Cats provided veterinary care for my pets for 10 years until I recently moved from the area. Dr. Shoenberg is a no-nonsense, generous, kind and most importantly, gifted feline specialist. She means business and her intentions are always in the best interest of the patient. I miss the folks at Just Cats and will never forget them.

Bringing my cat in for the first time, I was very disappointed. I felt like I was not being heard, and the problems that my cat was experiencing were not being addressed. I left the office no closer to understanding what was wrong (or possibly wrong) than when I walked in. In addition to not being heard, I was talked at, not to. And I was talked at like I was an idiot. I do not need to be coddled by my vet, but I would like to be able to ask questions and have them answered. I brought in paperwork of her previous lab work and vacs, and yet one of the same tests were performed, without my consent, and I was thus charged. Believe me, I am not afraid to drop money when it comes to the welfare of my cat. However, nor do I like to waste it on unnecessarily repeated tests, and be made to feel guilty by thinking this way. In conclusion, I walked out $200 bucks shorter and my cat walked out with the same problems she went in with.
